Its different. CK is most interesting when he's allowed to get weird. KC is boring because he's always acting weird.

And another hell no this, too.

I'll take Cudi over Keef any day. Keef bores me because he's no different from so many kids who do that trap sound. He's average at best. Cudi isn't the greatest but he stands out way more, imo.

Citgo alone is a more interesting track than Cudi's whole catalog. Dude is a snoozefest, through and through.

That was kinda my point. But to keep it #3hunna, it's also the most interesting song in Sosa's catalog too.

Kid Cudi's part on Guilt Trip is horrendous.

Fuck no, Citgo is not bodying Cudi's catalog.

Case in point: both are overrated. Period. At the very least, Cudi can pick some good production and switches it up on his songs. My problem with Cudi was how he was marketed as like this really ill lyricist and all he did was more so do are sing song kind of raps. Keef, I mean, I listened to his album a few times and I just felt he made the same song over and over. Just don't get it.

When I'm posting here I can only process stuff through a :phila: prism, so I would describe Yeezus as sounding like its ghostwritten by Mindbender and a&r-ed by djjefffresh and Varick PYR.

If nothing else, it's made me laugh out loud numerous times.

Its ok, i like the production more than the rapping (and i actually like kanye as a rapper) it kind of feels like a half formed idea thought, which if you read the stuff rick rubin said kind of makes sense. Kanye came to him with like 3 hours of music that was semi formed and then left it with him to put it into context, same with the lyrics a few times he starts going off on something interesting then reverts back to his default talking about all the girls he came on. Cocaine is a hell of a drug bruh.

thats how i felt, too. on top of that, i can't get with the whole "i'm a god talk" just because you got rich off of music; religious beliefes and etc. aside, it doesn't sound right to me. it makes me wonder how accurate that South Park episode was about him doing math on a chalkboard and calling himself a genius.

"I'm In It" is the only track I can stomach on this thing. Not even Keef and Beenie Man could save it.

Worst album of 2013; possibly the decade/millennium-to-date.

once again, Kanye has mistaken bombast for innovation and taste. the brief moments of musical quality are overshadowed by some of the most derivative, boring, dial-a-hipster bullshit. got to the end, was surprised by it's brevity, and ran it back twice more for certain; it's still :shittylikesometp:

wat
Rolling Stone gives Yeezus a rare four-and-a-half stars out of five, while pointing out that it may not be his most palatable work to the average fan. "Yeezus is the darkest, most extreme music Kanye has ever cooked up, an extravagantly abrasive album full of grinding electro, pummeling minimalist hip-hop, drone-y wooz and industrial gear-grind," writes Jon Dolan. "Every mad genius has to make a record like this at least once in his career – at its nastiest, his makes (Radiohead's) Kid A or (Nirvana's) In Utero or (Neil Young's) Trans all look like Bruno Mars."

The Los Angeles Times similarly calls it "the hardest, most abrasive record, both musically and thematically, of his career." Critic Randall Roberts says, "Yeezus is the most musically adventurous record he’s ever released, and after a handful of listens, it's pretty obvious that it will shock a lot of people. Those that already don’t like the polarizing Chicago rapper and producer will have a replenished arsenal come its Tuesday release date."

the only good thing about this album is that it reminded me to revisit techno animal - brotherhood of the bomb.

album is kinda trashy and the hipsters will force feed themselves to find some beauty in this narcissistic drivel.

The Inside Story of Kanye West’s ‘Yeezus’
Perhaps the most crucial (and last-minute) contributions came from producer Rick Rubin, who has midwifed albums for everyone from Beastie Boys to Johnny Cash. With just weeks to go before “Yeezus” was due, West recruited him to finish tracks and help give the album a cohesive sound.

At a semi-public “Yeezus” listening session in New York last Monday the rapper told the assembled crowd, “It was good for me to go to the god, Rick Rubin, and play him my sh–, ask him questions, and allow him to take this project to an entirely new level.”

Rubin is credited on “Yeezus” as an executive producer. We asked the producer to describe his role, and here’s what he had to say via email, less than a week after West submitted the completed album to Def Jam.
