Suggest everybody listen to Style Wars some more and respect the fact that disco is dead...
And if you're yelling out YOLO, I'm calling you a homo...

Diddy woulda had the album out already. There was serious potential for greatness in that union.

Not really. Jay would have dragged his feet til Diddy forced him to put something subpar out, and after it flopped he'd hold his contract hostage for the billionth time.

what, so Jay Electronica deserves to get the "5 Star" fucking Excuse My French Montana treatment?
son, ask King Los: THE BAD BOY CURSE IS STILL EXTREMELY FUCKING REAL.
Diddy only cares about himself and ingratiated himself onto the legacy of Biggie more than he ever should have. All Diddy does is "make it hot", which is a euphemism for exploiting real creators, beatmakers and songwriters and tweaking it just enough to claim a piece of it after something good is made. Sean Combs does NOT create art, he does business. He would not let Jay Electronica put out a song that says "WE CAME UP FROM SLAVERY" in the first 2 bars.
this song is fucking awesome and sets the bar for all these stupid new school rappers to stop rapping like EEEEDIOTS. Motherfuckers dumbed this shit down way too far for anyone awake to respect. SOOOO GLAD Jay-Z picked this beat to murder to excellence. All these Migos-level motherfuckers need to read a god damn book and step their rap game up.
Jay Electronica is actually fucking awesome. His message is the future of hip hop, and I've been patiently waiting for the intelligence era to begin agin
So Jay-Z says 'sorry, Mr. Drizzy'? cool, cause I keep hearing 'Mrs. Drizzy' and I'm like "noo waiii, this can't be life"
I swear this is Jay-Z's best fucking verse in about five years. It's better than EVERYTHING he spit on 'Watch the Throne' and 'Magna Carter Holy Grail'. Jay-Z hasn't made a reference to Yakub... EVER. "Chase him back in his cave"! WOW. Jay-Z getting his 5% Wizdom on. It's a good thing for the Macklemores to hear
and cot dayum. at this rate of new material actually coming out... Jay Electronica just ~might~ drop an album this summer. If they lose this momentum they are building... HIP HOP DESERVES TO FUCKING SACRIFICE THEM ON THE ALTAR OF 'DETOX'

you saw it coming. this is why that album didn't drop. he had to compromise somehow.
but the lyrics are pretty much the same kinda shit he's been on anyway.

def better than the one from last week but i think with all the delays and shitty indie rock songs the mystique took irreparable damage. i want to believe in the dude, but it would be easier to swallow the koolaide again if the songs were exhibit a/c level and they're not

What's up with Jay Electronica appearing on joints and getting forgotten lately cuz someone called a rapper out by name?
Sounds like President Carter recorded in a bathroom. Verse is far more spirited than the entirety of MCHG. Enjoyed.

Re: Jay Electronica "better in tune w the infinite" ft. LaTo
"sorry Mrs. Drizzy for so much art talk/ silly me rappin bout shit that I really bought"
- Jay-Z's reply to the comment in Rolling Stone where Drake 'allegedly' said "Jay-Z can't spit 4 bars without making an art reference!" Drake said he didn't make that comment, but Rolling Stone said otherwise.
I ain't mad tho because this is the BEST JAY-Z VERSE IN YEARS, even if Rolling Stone tryna be on that divide and conquer bullshit with black gods in rap
and if Drake replies???
SHIT GON' GET GOOD
rap is out of control (and fun)

Re: Jay Electronica "better in tune w the infinite" ft. LaTo
the only people who have said it sucked are people who seem to like their rap REAL IGNUNT
how in god'z wrath does THAT suck? Jay-Z actually put EFFORT into that verse! no lazy lines at all. NOT ONE!
tight flow like he was just off a Reasonable Doubt coke deal, and infinity-deep wisdom like he is rapping to 50 dudes in Brooklyn, not 50 million around the world
you motherfuckers are crazy to dis this
I'm a Drake Stan and even I LOVE THIS verse
I'll never say Jay-Z lost it for the rest of my life, for real.
If a man can spit this sharp at 45, I'll believe he can ALWAYS come with john blaze
i've already memorized Jay-Z's verse on this song and I can spit it myself. I ain't memorize SHIT on his last 2 albums

I'm not really big on congratulating rappers for trying in their verses. Good for him, it still sucked. Just because he mentioned some bullshit about 12 Years A Slave doesn't mean he's a revolutionary, btw

Re: Jay Electronica "better in tune w the infinite" ft. LaTo
i'm just surprised drake's lil darts got him so worked up. the 'i dont fuck with your new shit so dont ask my take on it' line on versace was on point but that was a while ago. i guess it's drake's "we made it" verse that he's responding to directly.
jay does not usually get mad. on takeover he sounds triumphant. on bp2 he's wounded but proud. even on dig a hole he's cold but calculated. here he's going off script, pulling the race card, even slipping in a little antisemitism. we're seeing a new side of the jigga man.

Re: Jay Electronica "better in tune w the infinite" ft. LaTo
^He's responding to the quotes in a Rolling Stone article that Drake claimed were off the record. Drake basically say Jay can't go four bars without dropping some dumb art reference, which is true. It's hilarious and pathetic that Jay felt the need to respond to something so offhand, especially from Drake, who's as unthreatening a rapper there ever has been. Dude has a line saying he'll probably cry when Jay dies, for Christ sake.

Re: Jay Electronica "better in tune w the infinite" ft. LaTo
yes i know the rolling stone article. like i said above drake's darts are not limited to that. on drake & soulja boy's "we made it" drake throws a couple subliminals that jay directly responds to in this song. and listen to drake's verse on versace, one of the biggest songs of last year. he's clearly going at jay.
