pretty good Mobb Deep song

awesome to hear it's a double album

this isn't 'Shook Ones Pt. 2' level, but it's almost 'Quiet Storm' level, and that's pretty good these days

Havoc's rapping and production skills are better than they've ever been and Prodigy is coming off the best solo album of his career. Can't wait for this.

HNIC 1 is better than albert einstein, but other than that, I echo your sentiment

return of the mac is better than AE too imo. not by a huge margin, it wasn't a huge stepdown for a sequel, but there is def an edge there

Funny, I spent the past week digging into the Mobb Deep back catalog and thought that Return of the Mac didn't sound nearly as good as I remembered. At the time, that album represented a renaissance for Prodigy; now that I've grown accustomed to his rapping at that level, the album's lost some of its luster. It's still pretty damn good, but I'm a bigger fan of the atmosphere Alchemist created on Albert Einstein. AE feels like more of a fully-realized work, whereas Return of the Mac sounds like the mixtape/side project that it was.

I'm the opposite, I revisited it recently in light of AE and found it holding up really really well.

Alchemist is on some other next shit now as a producer, so in that sense the production on AE is superior. But as far as the album as a whole, I still prefer the former.

I know I'm in the minority, but I like HNIC 2 a little bit more than return of the mac

I like how prodigy made a video for almost all of the songs off of HNIC 2

Lame to see tracks from Black Cocaine being reused here.

The Ghost verse got id'd as his verse from the Real Live Shit remix. Totally forgot about that one

I have most of those infamous sessions songs, but they are in terrible quality...good quality versions of those songs would be a godsend

Only listened to the second disc, but it's very good. Heard some before, but lots of this is new to me.

Anyone bothering with the shows they're doing? Look like (generally) pretty small capacity venues? They were in London for some Supreme thing a few days ago but I don't creep in the right circles anymore to get invited to those sort of things.

Started, only managed a few tracks. Not terrible by any means, just really dull. CD2 on the other hand...

nice release. And, no I haven't really delved into more than a couple songs of the new shit.

For the record as far as Prodigy solo releases:

Return of the Mac
HNIC 1
Albert Einstein
HNIC 2

And none of those ranks as high as the third (even arguably 4th) best Mobb Deep album.

10 is for Infamous, if you roll over the pic you get the second score for the new album
