I can understand the hate of that off kilter beat with the choppy drums and ice cream truck sample. I dig it though. If I had to eliminate anything it'd be Freeway

Probably my favorite track on the whole album. Not sure I even understand the basis for the complaints.

the lullaby loop could be ok i guess. it's not particularly inspired or interesting tho
the drums sound completely out of place & the programming is pretty bland/boring. overall the beat is repetitive & sounds amateurish
i'm willing to concede that it might have some lo-fi charm that simply doesn't resonate with me.. but even so, it was probably made in 10-15 minutes & it sounds exactly like it

sounds like precisely the appeal of most roc marciano beats to me.

I guess they are re-releasing the UN album with some bonus stuff. Track above is unreleased as far as I know. Would love another UN album. Surprised Roc doesn't work with any of those guys much at this point

I'm pretty sure they stopped rapping for the most part. Not really much of a surprise IMO - they complemented Roc nicely and all, but he was clearly the standout.

i don't know i would enjoy another UN album. clearly, Roc's the standout but their styles all worked together. which i don't think is the case a lot of the time lately. would much rather hear Marci on a song with Dino Brave than Action Bronson :meh:

I finally ordered Marci Beaucoup. Look forward to hearing it. I have only heard one song from the album, and have been listening to it pretty much on loop today. Fucking beat is so goddam ill, the sample and bassline are ridiculous.

Been vibing off this Marci Beaucoup shit. Very good album. Marciano beats have such a distinctive sound. If I had to try to describe it I would say that his use of minimal/sparse drums allows the other layers to dominate. All those strings are really fucking raw. That, "War Scars," is so goddam hard with the guitar and harp or whatever that is. Odd sounds are incorporated well (I'm thinking of the track with Ragazino), whereas for other artists they would just sound like shit. Plus you add his rhymes, which I find to be dope as fuck, from his delivery to his references. "I waited patiently as A.C. Green," oh man. Roc Marciano is turning into one of the best hip hop artists ever in my humble opinion.

I put together a continuous Metal Clergy mix using all of the songs Roc and Ka have done together so far.
