This new album is pretty disappointing...

The joint "Opinions May Vary" feat. Gangrene is dope though... and "The Bigger Picture" feat. Krondon is pretty good. There's a couple of others that are cool, but overall pretty disappointing. Oh well...

on two listens i think this is a solid album. nothing is particularly game-changing but i didn't hear any bad tracks. production is really good throughout and i feel like both rakaa and evidence brought quality rhymes. not sure what people's expectations are for a dilated album, but i'm happy with the album

i think evidence's verses were better on step brothers and the high points on lord steppington are higher than on directors, but i think directors is more consistent than lord steppington throughout

To me, this shit is great. classic boom bap. Evidence is really in the pocket right now, and Raakaa sounds reinvigorated as well. It's also sort of refreshing to hear scratching on a new release. The beats obviously go, but that should not be surprising.

As for spittin over 90 beats like Celph Titled did, I highly doubt that Dilated would ever do that. A lot of people wouldn't do that. I personally thought Nineteen Ninety Now was GREAT and one of the best albums of the 2000s. *shrugs*

Pretty good for 2014 standards. I think its a decent release. Def not their strongest but good for an 7-8 year break as a group
