I think he's better than "an ok rapper." That EP is fire. Fact is, if that was Nas, it would be the best project Nas has put out in years.

And that's coming from somebody who hasn't totally written off Nas' recent body of work like a lot of people have. He always has great songs ... it's just a ratio of 50% great songs / 50% what the fuck is this shit.

Outside of Swizz Beatz I liked Nas's last album and think it's one of the better albums of that year easily. Folks hold Nas to such a high standard that his ok is still better than 95% of whatever is out there. A Nas clone/disciple etc isn't going to push my buttons like that just because he does a good impression.

od pandering on every level. first time I've felt like he's purposefully making an effort to sound like nas, which is even shittier in this context because it could've been a good chance for him to show that he has something more to offer than just the strength of that comparison
