Let Jaz Down wrote: E Money Bags w/ Nature & Kool G Rap - Friend Of Ours
"Handshakes to hugs and hugs turn to headlocks"

those nas verses tho

E money bags had some joints, but it was mostly due to the guest features on his songs

East Points Greatest Hits is a classic

Nice to see someone acknowledge Pop, Lock & Drop remix.

Always considered Banks a punchline rapper with a shitty voice. This track, however, >>> the entire G-Unit catalogue.

Flo Rida has now made a legitimate 5/5 banger with Sage The Gemini + a saxophone sample that sounds like it's straight outta a 1989 Lakim Shabazz song:

Flo Rida w/ Sage The Gemini - GDFR

These are questionable choices, I know. But these fit the description of "Great songs by not-so-great rappers."

Assassin was horrible as a rapper but he aligned himself with the right people due to his DJ roots and his unstoppable hustle.

Assassin. Not Cougnut.

Title of the thread once again: Great songs by not-so-great rappers. If you think Guce is a great rapper that's on you. Trick was better, but I certainly have higher standards than to call him great as a rapper. To each her own though.

Trick Daddy does not belong here; regardless of what you think about his "rap skillz", he made a bunch of great songs. This thread is for rappers with an absolute maximum of 3 certified jams.

Willie Northpole - Body Marked Up

^^ This is what I'm talking about. This song >>>>>>> anything else Willie ever made.

Goretex w/ Necro - Dopesick

:ntodd:

Tarrie B - Murder She Wrote

Every tape compilation I made in 1990 had this next to Ice-T's Lethal Weapon.

Wacko - Nolia Clap (original verse)

Wacko was great as a part of UTP but this o.g version of Nolia Clap is the only legit 5/5 track he has to his own name.

Maino - Role Model

Basically the noughties version of Broken Language. Shouts to Rumors by Maino too for being a street DVD classic.

I didn't read the initial post. Because you created this thread I'll follow your guidelines from here on out.

[quote="Blockhead"]This one struck me as song by a totally lame rapper who made one good song…but it also may be the case of a dude who only made one song.

Was his shelved album ever excavated?

I thought he was dope in an unconventional way. Cool voice, weird bragadocio lyrics... What didn't you like?

Wouldn't say I didn't' like him (after all, as far as I know, he had one 12'' and that was it). i think it was more a case of "yeah, this is a one trick pony". Kinda like Gauge the mental murderer. Also, I recall thinking he was a bit of a humpty hump biter.
