Outkast or Mobb Deep?

Post by seagrams hotsauce »

You've been convicted of a horrible crime - maybe matricide, maybe cannibalism, maybe moonshining - and you've been damned into living the rest of your life on a penal colony on a desert island. The guards are kinda cool and mercifully recognize your crazed desire to listen to at least one rap artist for the rest of your days. They give you a choice between Mobb Deep and Outkast. You can only choose one, or else these cowards are going to kick in your ribcage like it was a ship in a bottle. What do you think is the correct choice?

Outkast and this shit is not even a fair fight. I like Mobb Deep just as much as the next guy, but they don't have ANYTHING that touches ATLiens. Way more layered as far as production and lyrics. Mobb is hardcore boom bag ruggedness. Outkast is on a different plane and dimension. Out of this world.

Mobb Deep. They have more good material too, if those guards would be willing to hook me up with the bootlegs and unreleased stuff as well.
Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly

yeah, but it's a penal colony, not a penis colony. Outkast is great, but there are several :pause: -worthy moments in that catalogue. Might as well master that dun lingo. Plus, there are no G Rap guest appearances to be found in that [Outkast] catalogue. Mobb Deep for me.

They got that Slick Rick guest appearance, though.

Here's an idea - how about you enjoy both groups since they both do two entirely different things and cater to two entirely different moods?

Mobb. Without a doubt. I love Outkast, but...

From 95-99 no group could fuck with Mobb. Infamous, HOE, MM + all the unreleased (and there are many), soundtrack, B-Sides. They were untouchable.

outkast because of their song and style diversity

mobb deep does the same shit on every song and album. they are great at what they do but it would get boring quickly if thats all you had to listen to.

I think Outkast is the greatest hip hop duo of all time. They surpassed A Tribe Called Quest (who raised me) when they released 'Stankonia'.

I actually have listened to 'The Infamous' more than any other Outkast album, though. And P Dubb and Hav are like my QB uncles that taught me what a O E was and what 'dunn' meant. Plus Prodigy stood his ground vs. Jay-Z AND defended all of NYC when almost nobody else had the balls to speak to Daz & Kurupt & Snoop & Suge :bunk: :naswtf:

voted Outkast because welp, 'Bombs Over Baghdad' might raise my dead body from the cemetary if it's played over my sacred gravesite

Jaz is right though: I kinda hate these either-or ultimatums which are divisive and :roper: essentially... like whenever anyone says "Kim Kardashian or Beyonce Knowles?" I say: "fuck your limited imagination son, I live in a world where I CAN HAVE SEX WITH BOTH, SIMULTANEOUSLY" :gyeah:

outkast very easily. not only do you get top-tier rappity raps, you have way more variety than you get with the MD catalog.

Much as I like Outkast, I'd take The Infamous over all of their albums.
