Re: The All-Inclusive Odd Future Thread + Music
Only midway through the year but I predict Earl taking it for OF this year. Every other release has been underwhelming. I don't even listen to the Tyler project anymore. It is soo bad ...

Pardon my ignorance but what are the 7 letters he's referring to?

Re: The All-Inclusive Odd Future Thread + Music
Odd Future, Raider Klan, and ASAP Mob have all fizzled out quite unceremoniously.
Re: The All-Inclusive Odd Future Thread + Music
where is it being blown out of proportion? the entire group hasn't been an item for years now, and its painfully obvious to anybody who actually follows their work.drizzle wrote:yea people are blowing this way out of proportion. friends drift apart, it happens.ackbar wrote:prob doesn't mean a lot. tyler solo career with a clothing label. earl & frank ocean with their own successful solo careers

As individual artists (ASAP Rocky, Tyler, Frank Ocean) maybe, not as a movement tho. Odd Future has basically been defunct for awhile, as we have all just been discussing...ackbar wrote:re: fizzling out.. odd future & A$AP are without a doubt more popular right now than they've ever been
ASAP Mob's output has slowed considerably...
Raider Klan is hardly even on the map anymore.

I think he's referring to them as a 'unit' rather than the individual members, which is still pretty dumb/inaccurate

How is it dumb? Thats like saying Rocafella is still poppin, because jay-z is still popular currently.seagrams hotsauce wrote:I think he's referring to them as a 'unit' rather than the individual members, which is still pretty dumb/inaccurate

It's more like saying roc nation is popping, but whatever. Two of the highest profile albums from OF came out this year. Ferg is still coasting. The Rocky album is getting critical acclaim. Don't know what more you want from them.

I feel you. We are both right in a sense. Just saying they aren't flooding the market with mixtapes and shit like they were before.seagrams hotsauce wrote:It's more like saying roc nation is popping, but whatever. Not that M2C is the be all end all, but just take a look at activity of the Raider Klan, ASAP Rocky (Mob), and Odd Future threads of the past few years vs say 2012...
Re: The All-Inclusive Odd Future Thread + Music
A$AP Rocky is more popular than ever. A$AP Ferg is more popular than ever. Nast & Twelvyy both have significant buzz. The rest of A$AP Mob don't really rap that much as far as I can tell. Check their popularity & influence on social media tho
Tyler is bigger than ever. Earl is bigger than ever. Frank Ocean is bigger than ever. Hodgy, Left Brain & The Internet all have healthy fanbases.
Rocky, Ferg, Tyler, Earl & Frank Ocean are all big enough to be significant festival draws. That shows that they're not really done by any means. (Unless you're referring to the specifically repping as a clique together)

some things pop off here specifically because they aren't that popular yet tho. for the novelty or excitement of something new. then people lose interestRace Car Bed Sleeping Rapist Virgin wrote:Not that M2C is the be all end all, but just take a look at activity of the Raider Klan, ASAP Rocky (Mob), and Odd Future threads of the past few years vs say 2012...
they are more popular out there in the world now without a doubt. (raider klan kinda fell apart tho & collectives like teamsesh, goth money, thraxxhouse, etc. slid in)

Who cares? They were B-level members, with minimal talent who contributed fuck all. Now that the group has disbanded I am sure it will be tough for them.

i don't even see how this will change anything. everyone who wants to make music will continue to do so. kinda weird to see people airing their private fights on twitter.
i wonder if twitter existed back then, would biggie have tweeted subs about pac and nas and jeru, etc.? prob right?

For those who are into the band, new Internet album just leaked. Currently listening to it. 3 tracks in, I can't say I am disappointed.
