Son it's 2016. We not using rappers as masculine avatars anymore. When Drizzy took that smack from Diddy and gave him that 'how could you' look he taught us all how to forgive.drizzle wrote: pretty much nobody except your creatined-up smith machine-pressing tjmax turtleneck-that-now-has-a-suspicious-yellow-stain-on-it-rocking non-lyric-writing swagvulture bitchass of an MCM

when i joined in '04 jay z was the board's darling. it's always been favourable to commercial stars who put out good music. moreover, doom is hella popular here. i bet a bunch of people would put him in a top 10 list. The Ivy League Nigga wrote:Look at this thread. Please explain what you're talking about here.CarlosDelgothoes wrote:Thank fuckThe Ivy League Nigga wrote:2016 PF is not 2001 HHI.
someone listed Mika 9nin9 or however the fuck it's spelt and Breezy Brewin like we're still pretending cramming 19 syllables into one bar = talent.
Drake is better than both of them put together.
Drake single-handedly ended the career of Meek Mill and backed down Common and Jay-Z like it was nothing
Breezy Brewin puffed his chest out on Life's Ill and then collapsed into a nervous breakdown of apologies when Will High called him out for it.
Drake could probably beat up Will High if he wanted yo.

Also surprised drizzle has such passionate distaste for Drake, seems uncharacteristically cranky from a guy who's typically just dismissive instead of passionately critical

Re: The Best Rapper For Every Year Since 1979 [Complex]
I think he's in contention every year 1999-2004, honestly. Maybe the strongest 5 year stretch of any one rapper. You could certainly make that argument. I only mentioned 2004 in particular because, based on the paradigm of the complex article, all those other years he had very strong competition. 2004 is the year I think he was head-and-shoulders above everyone.Pretend Black Guy wrote:Fixed. The Ivy League Nigga wrote:I know it's probably too underground for Complex's tastes (and maybe this board's too?), but MF Doom's 1999 is pretty much undeniable.
EDIT: I guess he didn't put out projects every year 1999-2004, but you get what I mean.

This is a fair assessment, Drake is aggressively offensive to me to an unusual degree. He's in the pantheon of most loathed nemeses along with Radiohead, Bobby Flay and Ricky Gervaiseseagrams hotsauce wrote:Also surprised drizzle has such passionate distaste for Drake, seems uncharacteristically cranky from a guy who's typically just dismissive instead of passionately critical

The only context I can see myself using 'fire' in with regards to Drake would be something like 'kill it with fire'

Blockhead, Gloss, and Employee were the ones that got on board in 2015. Drizzle and IDAL the last of a dying breed.
Though, to be fair, lots of people in the real world dislike Drake. It's perfectly understandable.
