made a version of the record for myself that's 10 tracks and 31 minutes and it feels ultra listenable.

i think there are about 6 fully actualized songs on the record (ultra light beams, Father Stretch hands pt 1, FML, Real Friends, 30 Hours [minus the 3 minutes of babbling at the end], No More Parties in LA), and if he could've made just 6 more that were that realized it would've been another classic. there are other great things going on in the record, but a lot of them feel like partially finished ideas or half songs.

but who knows, i've already seen a lot of people on social media with completely opposite favorites than my favorites.

Chance's verse is cool, Dream sings nicely on the end Highlights and I like the idea behind Fade. No More Parties In LA is really the only song I would ever go out of my way to listen to again. I like the bleached asshole part too. Easily Kanye's worst album. "Disjointed" does not equal "Artsy" or "Good". This really is a shitty thing.

Ultra Light Beams was nice, and Chance did his thing, but I never need to hear that song again. I've seen people on SM sweating that song so hard and how it's so artistic and this and that. To me it is over ambitious and just fails aside from Chance's verse.

It reminds me of Dark Fantasy, in that it has some great elements. But there are so many starts and stops, and the song really never goes anywhere. It's not a song you'd want to subject yourself to repeatedly.

Interesting to see how engaged we are with the process, reordering it, remixing, editing, etc. I wonder if it's something he intended, to bring fans into the process by opening it up so much, leaking tracklists, publicly retitling the album, leaving reference vox in, etc. Is the album really unfinished or is that the point?
