i enjoy citizen d's chop of the sample. also, i dug his drums. however... i thought they could'be banged harder.
also, the beat felt like an interlude.
i thought citizen's beat was a little more predictable. i think would've enjoyed it more if it wasn't esentially a loop that everyone on this board has right now... also, i spent an hour chopping that same sample the other night. i didn't like the snare, but the rest of the drums were straight.
but it felt more complete to me.
and, if i was choosing as an emcee, i would've gone with that one.
so i voted citizen.
but good shit.

Sexiest woman in showbiz. Every time I walk by a newsstand, her Esquire covershot makes me stumble.citizen wrote:
I had these long comments all done and shit, and then the server crashed. So now I'll have to paraphrase.
citizen - Predictable movements, as people have said, and I just don't like the way the drums rest in the mix. Everything else has a lot more life. The drums sound like they're stuck in a cell block. But all in all, this shit is not half bad. The added layers do a lot to push it along, and it's a pretty solid joint by the time it's finished.
citizen D - This is kind of lousy. Doesn't go much of anywhere. Everything's pretty much stuck. The chop is pretty lousy. And it's over before it really started. Either way, improvement is unavoidable, so to the future. Welcome aboard.
So, I'ma have a say citizen.

well, today is the deadline for submissions and theres 7 people who still havent sent me their beat, so you might wind up getting down on this.CitizenD wrote:Word. Well if there's need for a second alternate I"m down. Just 'cuz I made a second beat and was saving that for the main battle. It's much better I promise
