Yeah, Run the Jewels 3 isn't needed right now. They should do solo shit, maybe even split albums/EP's, then do another album in a few years.

Pitchfork likes RTJ2 for three reasons and three reasons only: De La Rocha, Gangsta Boo, and the fact that it can devote pillars of pixels to the pair's pigmentation.

The pairing makes for a good story, and the album is bonkers, happy to see them doing so well.

If RTJ3 consists only of their FAP'ping sounds, Pitchfork will likely hail it as the most startling sonic breakthrough since Death Grips was first listened to in a minivan.

When this record’s truths become unrecognizable, we’ll know that we’ve finally made progress. We can chart our evolution from here.
I usually like Jeff Weiss's writing.

Is Jeff Weiss a eunuch? I've never heard a male speak at that highly fragile octave.

a lot of IGN commenters didn't know what run the jewels was

the majority of the ones who could figure out the group through a google search or whatever were throwing incendiary darts at what they thought was canonical 'black music'. they didn't know that one half of RTJ was white

and then the funny thing is the loudest, and most obnoxious critics of RTJ (& hip hop in general) were people who primarily listened to heavy metal & old punk. maybe if you were a prog rock snob or something to that effect i would get it, but if you listen to metal?
