Freeway in a New Orleans Bounce song that samples Ricky B's "Shake For Your Hood"
and hah that scene with Freeway. That EMS truck has been sitting at that location for damn near a decade now.
I actually drove by that spot one day back in late August and I saw a bunch of dudes filming with a smoke machine going off.
but it was in the daytime.

hah Master P trying to bring back Bout It Bout It. yeah, that's an asian dude with dreads dropping n-bombs.
dj BlaqNMilD produced both these tracks (8-9, Master P) and also did 5th Ward Weebie's "Let Me Find Out".

Dom Kennedy - REPRESENT (I LIKE THAT) PROD. BY J.LBS
https://soundcloud.com/opm-radio/represent-i-like-that-prod-by-jlbs
I really fuck with this because it sounds like a more natural progression from The Yellow Album than his last release, which never actually made it into heavy rotation on this side.
Also,

BEST RAP, 2014
I’m going fishing with these little bitty shrimp dips.

Too much of a knee-jerk reaction to say that this 'Lito verse/ hook is more inspired than anything on the two projects he just dropped?ANU wrote:

I'm definitely going to rock with a couple top 10 lists. Still sifting through the last few pages of this thread, though. Shout to jukeboxvandal. Fuck with a favorites/ year-end list, or somethin please.Let Jaz Down wrote:Rey, Ackbar, Blast, Larry, Nacho, Illuminati_Guy....
You are required to drop your year end song lists in this thread.

Re: Rolling Check-in 2014 (formerly Check-in 2013)
I've not had a chance to properly listen to Black Sheep Don't Grin yet, but I commend 'lito for making me enjoy a verse by that smug little twerp Dee-1 on Bad Combination.
Co-sign French's Dontcha, but it's probably impossible to make a bad song outta In The Rain by The Dramatics, innit?
Everybody probably knows this already, but this is the first Shy Glizzy track I've really fucked with:
Shy Glizzy - Funeral
Usually I can't take Glizzy seriously due to the vocal similarities he shares with Larry Lifeless from Kilslug/Upsidedown Cross; here, those vocal similarities work to his advantage something wonderful. Been playing the shit outta this the past week or so.

My first time hearing this one (apparently it's been out for a while). I thought the Radio Killa retired? Fuck it, this is dope either way.

New EP is shaping up nicely. "Terror" is still an absolute banger.

I fuck with the new Kid Ink single, although I prefer to think of it as the b side to Body Language:
Kid Ink - Cool Back
Whatever, he's a great singles artist, imho

Favorite Albums/ Mixtapes of 2014
1. Mozzy - Goonbody Embodiment / Next Body On You
Name: Mozzy pka Lil Tim
Location: Oak Park (Sacramento, CA)
Affiliates/ Affiliations: Snubbz, E-Mozzy, CellyRu, JuneOnnaBeat, Ridezilla
Themes: Yankin, 4th Ave
I don't recall the last time I had to hear every verse a rapper spit.
2. PARTYNEXTDOOR - PARTYNEXTDOOR Two
Wasn't even on my radar but landed in the top 5. Part two lends credence to the first one which landed both in heavy rotation.
3. Philthy Rich - #NOFE3 / Sem City Money Man
Philthy Rich released 10+ projects this year, shot hood vidoes for 2 albums worth of records, and maybe put the nail in the coffin of one my favorite rappers of all time. His album features read like a who's who / cool kids list of street rappers. He recruited AK-47 and summarily shat out maybe the best single-producer rap project this year. He's likely unsigned MVP of the year. Oh, plus he paid for Cookie Money's rims when teh rim shop tried to play him.
4. Joe Blow - M.O.B. 2: The Real Mob
5. A-Wax - Pullin' Strings
6. GT Garza - Legacy of Ritchie Valens
7. Young Scooter - Street Lottery 2
8. Preddy Boy P - Itchy Palms 2
Philthy Rich's NOBFE clique (essentially a rapping network of pimps) is the most entertaining crew out since Members of Byrdgang
9. WesttseW - The Souvenir
10. K.I. of 5FingaMafia - The Voice of the Streets
(Last year, 2013)

I only like the one Street Knowledge song and it's the Street Knowledge song that sounds nothing like any other Street Knowledge song!
