Genuine question... for the people (which looks like everyone) who don’t think the songs the ringer, greatest, lucky you, not alike, kamikaze or the fall are any good at all... what kind of modern hip hop are y’all listening to nowadays that makes this seem so unlistenable? The other songs I can see why but the ones I listed I really enjoyed

the beats are mostly trash. so opposite of so many interesting things in modern hip hop production.
rhymes are better than Revival, but not creatively. just content wise. he's still rapping SUPER fast as if that means good rhyme content, and it does NOT. Eminem is a technically superior MC... with nothing to say, and no new way to say it. He's not inventing completely new rhyme patterns or vocal syllable structures here. It's all 4/4 sequential punchline multi-syllable rap over weird, mediocre beats. The Ringer just BARELY takes the crown over Survival for the most BORING intro beat of 2018. What are Eminem and Drake doing? They are picking snoozers because they are fucking scared to make more grandiose statements

that CRIMEAPPLE album on this forum is better than the Eminem album. More satisfying beats & rhymes.
I am not currently listening to the things Kanye made this summer, but I listened to Kanye/Nas, Kanye/Teyana Taylor and Kanye's album more than I'll ever listen to Em's Kamikaze.
the new MF DOOM stuff is better
I heard a little of the new Pharaohe Monch LP and it's superior to this
everything Black Thought has done in 2018 has satisfied me when I want to hear good ass hip hop

there are MANY options better than Eminem, though it was nice of Eminem to do a lil summer jawn
he dropped Revival a week before Xmas 2017 and none of the parents bought it for their kids
different generation, Marshall. :omar: evolve or die

p.s. Lupe Fiasco is corny as fuck for throwing stones and hiding hands. Nobody beefs with you cause nobody cares about you anymore, you think you're too good for hip hop :bunk:

As wack and corny an Eminem has become as both a rapper and human being, Benzino will always be a hundred times worse of/at both. Also, he looks wildly strung out in that video.

With each passing day I start to think more and more that Mindbender is the absolute worst human being that ever lived

Top 3 (bottom?) easily. The funniest part is how he’s so oblivious to just how loathed he is. Honestly, he can’t be though. He tries to play it off like he’s in denial but it’s obvious he’s completely aware of said detestation.

I would love to know what local promoters and bookers think about him in Toronto. Their being Canadian is a huge wild card.

Eh benzino has always been better than Eminem. It's not about how many lyrics you can cram into a song, it's about making a song... I'll take goodfellaz by zino over anything em has ever made

Benzino was amazingly average at best. If he hadnt been involved in The Source he wouldve faded into obscurity by 2000.

Even with that money behind him and the collabs he could hook up he never really came up with much of note. Made Men had Mase and Big Pun on a track in 99 and it barely popped.

So from the people that answered my question..

Mindbender thinks himself and New mf doom and new pharaoh Monch are better than Em
Versive thinks people like tierra wack (aptly namesd) and a bunch of underground no names with boring beats and monotone flows and lyrics are better than Em
Gusty fingers thinks Benzino has always been better than Eminem (not sure if trolling)

Thanks for putting it more into perspective lmao

This year, my music is better than many motherfuckers. I don't care what you people say. Music is a marathon, not a sprint. :cas:

Lots of people are better than Eminem in 2018. But nobody can take away Em's accomplishments... nevertheless: just like Drake and 50 Cent, these legends are their own worst enemy, and basically took themselves out when they got to the top.

Black Thought is way better than Eminem in 2018, but Black Thought can't sell 200,000 records to save his life. Am I supposed to give a fuck about YouTube numbers and subscribers over raw talent and integrity? FUCK THAT.

You claim to not care about YouTube numbers as a coping mechanism for barely having any. If you truly didn't care you simply wouldn't post on YouTube at all...

I placed my song in the context of modern hip hop, and discussed that too. I do think some of my stuff this year is more satisfying musically than Eminem's stuff, and some other MCs too.

But I'm still talking about Eminem and MGK. More than most people in here, actually. So don't blame me for no derailing. Y'all jump on my dick with the quickness :omar:
