The new Benny tape 'A Friend of Ours' that was just on Youtube before, is now on bandcamp, it's really fucking good. First time El Camino really becomes a force to be reckoned with, the chemistry with Benny is obvious.

India is monumental struggle rap. The rest of the album didn't stand out much for me.
He references My First Brick a few times, which I haven't heard. Is it good? If so a link would be apreesh.

Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly

My First Brick is not bad, has some good shit on it. A solid precursor to Butcher On Steroids

New WSG is way too long for someone that's mostly dependant on his guests to help carry him. Despite the filler, I do think it's a notable improvement over some of the other releases from the Griselda camp which came out this year.

I don't think these guys have the temperament, talent, likability and listener loyalty to last them 5-7 years in this game. They are a year past their prime and now coasting for a few more. IMO of course.

Hard to gauge. Been listening to them now for about 3 years. It's difficult for really anyone to make quality music for a decade. Started listening to Bronson, Lauren, and Roc about 7 years ago. While the quality of Bronson's music has gone down since then, Roc & Mey are obviously still making good music. Don't see why Conway & Benny can't as well. Need to slow down their output and be a little more selective with their releases.Philaflava wrote:I don't think these guys have the temperament, talent, likability and listener loyalty to last them 5-7 years in this game. Maybe. I think Roc is an exception though. He has been making music since the mid 90s. Most of those others you mentioned guys were just born or toddlers then. Roc learned the hard way and really developed a talent for producing. Conway and WSG can't produce. I also think their style is borrowed from Roc.

talent wise there really is no comparison... These guys aren't half as talented on either beats or visual rhymes... And roc does both

38 Spesh has an album with G Rap and it looks like some shit made entirely of parts bought by email from europe but some of it is surprisingly good

there's also a treasure trove of 38 Spesh albums available on Apple Music. The one I've listened to is good, plan to check most of the others out over the next week. Good to hear the new tape is good, I saw Alchemist has a beat on there.

^ Really feelin' that new EP.
Got to admit, despite the non-stop spam, Fahim's recent output has been a hot streak of quality.
