HiPNOTT emcee MarQ Spekt has a ton of new music to release for 2015. First up is The Grilchy Era "tape" which will be available as a free download digitally with a limited number of cassette tapes for the collectors out there. The tape features production from Lex Boogie, IMAKEMADBEATS, $crilla, Deacon the Villian, and many more. Look out for the tape to drop sometime next month.
Not that I'm not in for new music from dude but...is he re-releasing Ghostmaker or what?

I pre ordered Grilchy Era. Sounds awesome from what I heard so far. Plus he said that he is releasing the Ghostmaker special edition on twitter and a bunch of music this year. Ready for Bionic Jazz too!
Been wanting to interview Spekt since before I started writing about music. Covered basically his whole career and then some: http://www.tinymixtapes.com/features/marq-spekt" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

pretty solid hour long mix that seems like a bit of Spekt mixed with various like minded associates/contemporaries/well-wishers/whatever
Shouldn't take comparisons to draw attn here ... BUT this is the best release this month IMO.

Been listening to these all weekend. Both really solid. I think Keep Playin is up there in terms of his solo releases. Just the whole flow of it

Both albums are great. My favorite tracks off each so far are 88 Barz and Gummi Bears

Bionic Jazz sounds like one of these projects Spekt put out half-mixed or totally unmixed just to put it out there, for the heads, like "here, mull this over." It's really far out at times, and IMO, the songs that go farthest are the most exciting. On the other hand, "Guidance" is probably one of the most introspective tracks we've ever heard from him. To that point, this and several other songs seem to be following the same rabbit hole he was going down on Broken Mazes. I think he's followed that trajectory on the Blockhead collabos too, to a degree. Free jazz-type bug-out shit.
KeepPlayin definitely has more replay value, but I can definitely appreciate what he's doing on Bionic Jazz too.
I would agree that KeepPlayin is right there with MacheteVision, JusPlayWitIt and Pretty Weapons as one of his best solo projects. As I said earlier, JusPlayWitIt has aged really well, so I'm excited to hear how this one will.

I would put this up there with Machetevision easily. I think my favorite track when it came out was 88 Barz but now It's Insomnia..
Agreed on Bionic Jazz, very bugged out but I love it.
