@ Gnozzear NEVER hearing about Your Old Droog until a few days ago, apparently.
I can't take this shit anymore, dog. Nas is the realest in the world when he's confused. Otherwise, I'm just as lost now.
HIP HOP IS SO FUCKING DEAD AND RAP IS FAR TOO OUT OF CONTROL

Proof most rappers have no idea what's going on and don't really check for others, especially rappers like Nas.
If anything, I am glad Nas is oblivious to this nonsense.

Even crazier is that Sasha Jenkins is his man (and co owner of mass appeal records, I believe) and he was the first to let people know about YOD in the first place. The whole thing is if you ask me.

Trust me, Nas linked up with MA because of the promise they gave him. He had nobody really knocking. Nas is trying to stack chips not listen to underground rappers. If you ask Nas about Kelis he might not even remember.

Re: Your Old Droog (Y.O.D.) - Nutty Bars
One of Nas' most likable qualities, in my opinion, is that he gives the impression that he's smoked himself to the point where anything outside his purview his entirely mindblowing. Like, the reaction he had to Narduwar that many of us probably assumed was unique to that occasion, probably wasn't at all.
Re: Your Old Droog (Y.O.D.) - Nutty Bars
I remember Nas saying he never heard of Organized Konfusion or Stray Bullet either. (I don't think I Gave You Power is a bite though - the emotions took it in a very different direction)

I want to become oblivious to this nonsense too. I'm NAStalgic for the days of 93...

I think YOD is dope and would much rather hear him right now than Nas, tho.

He's like Nas if Nas rapped about completely different shit in a totally different way and had a great ear for sample based beats.

its a good thing 1993 already happened and there was a whole wealth of music available one can continue listening to at their leisure if they so wished

YOD is dope but it's just too fucking weird. It's like hearing one of those Dr. Dre ghostwritten tracks recorded first by Crooked I, but more bizarreBlockhead wrote:I think YOD is dope and would much rather hear him right now than Nas, tho.
in theory, I love YOD
in practice, I can't believe it's not Nasir's butter

Kinda kicking myself for spending my pocket change on drinks at the show instead of buying the EP on CD. It's since been pressed on vinyl by Chopped Herring and will next be included in its entirety on the LP ... going to be a collector's item.
