Re: Lord Jamar - "Lift Up Your Skirt" (KANYE WEST DISS)
/He adds that he even turned down the role of "Omar" on "The Wire," because it wasn't something that he was comfortable with.
Re: Lord Jamar - "Lift Up Your Skirt" (KANYE WEST DISS)
dude definitely seems to be well versed in the gay lifestyle, a lifestyle he has studied because he finds it repugnant, and thinks real hip hop is more appropriate when it mirrors jail culture...you know where the sex with men isnt voluntary and its not gay if you cry during said act.

10% of him is gay, 5% of him is trying to fight off the gay and the other 85% have no idea whats going right nowALASKA wrote:dude definitely seems to be well versed in the gay lifestyle, a lifestyle he has studied because he finds it repugnant, and thinks real hip hop is more appropriate when it mirrors jail culture...you know where the sex with men isnt voluntary and its not gay if you cry during said act.

Omarface works in place of Larryface considering the context. I'll stop posting now.

Jamar Allah
STATEMENT:
I can see why people have a hangup about the word faggot. In a perfect world, it would be just as much of a taboo as anyone who isn't black saying nigga/nigger. But I didn't write the rules of the game, and I don't have enough cache' to re-write them all by myself. The time will likely come where that's completely off limits, but Rome wasn't built in a day. Hip Hop is a genre & culture that has always been dominated by alpha males, and questioning someone's manhood has long been the most effective tactic of getting under an opponent's skin in a battle. That's just part of the sport of being an MC. I don't blame anyone for being mad at me for saying it (or mad at Sadat for what he said 20 years ago), but neither of us intended to offend gay people. They should be more annoyed at Kanye for being overly effeminate with his fashion & mannerisms (yet so easily disturbed when people respond to him the way they I did). Hip Hop's a subversive genre & the more Kanye & the like do what they do, the more it sacrifice's Hip Hop's identity. This isn't all that dissimilar to when we first came out & people assumed we were racist because we were 5%ers. Just like white people who've been fans of our work since day one, any & all homosexuals who are familiar with our work would already know that we aren't out to offend them when we use such a word. We're just aiming at whatever punk ass emcee's in our scope.

Re: Lord Jamar - "Lift Up Your Skirt" (KANYE WEST DISS)
Jamar is an extremely stupid person, and should go away again.
Re: Lord Jamar - "Lift Up Your Skirt" (KANYE WEST DISS)
I can understand Lord Jamar's complaints, to a point.
EDIT: But yes, Lord Jamar comes off as totally ignorant and homophobic with all of his over-defense and explanations of why "FAGGOT" is perfectly okay to say. And that there is something inherently wrong with boys wearing skirts/kilts/whatever. THAT part I do not agree with AT ALL. Prompted me to unfollow. The only part I agree with is doing something ridiculous to get attention instead of making music that gets the attention just through itself. The music should be good enough to get attention on its own.
That said--I liked Kanye's skirt. In that context. He went out there 12.12.12 and performed for all those old, rich, white guys who had no interest in him. The show for the audience kinda stopped, like "wtf IS this?" These people are listening to this total change in music and don't even know what to think.
With all the good and bad attention, Kanye actually steals the show.
WHILE WEARING A FUCKING SKIRT.
Two months later, Lord Jamar is still talking about this.
Kanye wins.

Re: Lord Jamar - "Lift Up Your Skirt" (KANYE WEST DISS)
The criticism of Lord Jamar is 100% on point.
The only problem is that if he was from Atlanta, none of you would bother engaging in said criticism. Instead you'd be copping pseudo-intellectual pleas and equivocating. True story.
