Props. Promotion of this album was pretty brilliant, certainly risky and expensive, so I am glad it paid off.

Congrats. I remember reading sales figures for the last release at over 120,000 as well.

FWIW, even though I have spent the last decade plus listening to mostly hip-hop and a large % of that "underground" independent stuff- I had somehow managed to never hear an Atmosphere song until recently.

I havent listened to regular radio in a few years at all. But lately I have been listening to my wife's preferred radio station in the car. This is a ( non Clear Channel) "alternative" station in Columbus Ohio.

About a month ago I heard this song that seemed pretty out of place on the station and had no idea what it was. Turns out it was "You." every day at 5pm they have a top requested songs thing, and that song has been the #1 requested song on there every day that I have happened to be in the car at the time.

CD101, i believe it is. pretty crazy.

and the difference between the 100k+ between the last record and this one is that this record has sold that much in just a couple of months. that's competing with the major label releases.

Is it the US only in those sales?

Interested to know how much you sold outside of the US.

Sean will won't discuss finances as he shouldn't. But I can speculate based on sales and their promo campaign. I'd say both he and ANT are taking home after all expenses are recouped and their staff is broken off, probably around $205,000 each before taxes.

I could be very low but who knows. Add that plus touring, merch and future album sales and I'd say this was a very good year for an indie rapper. Probably one of the best ever.
