Last year's list apparently came out in August, and it was 2006 income only. So if this is not a hoax, it probably covers 2007 earnings. Here's last year's :lastweek: :

Jay-Z - $34 million
50 Cent - $32 million
Diddy - $28 million
Timbaland - $21 million
Dr. Dre - $20 million
Eminem - $18 million
Snoop Dogg - $17 million
Kanye West - $17 million
Pharrell Williams - $17 million
Scott Storch - $17 million
Ludacris - $16 million
T.I. - $16 million
OutKast - $14 million
Lil Jon - $14 million
Ice Cube - $13 million
Jermaine Dupri - $12 million
Swizz Beatz - $12 million
Chamillionaire - $11 million
The Game - $11 million
Yung Joc - $10 million

[quote="DLG"]not sure if this is :lastweek:

1. Curtis ג€œ50 Centג€ Jackson: $150 million
2. Shawn ג€œJay-Zג€ Carter: $82 million
3. Sean ג€œDiddyג€ Combs: $35 million
4. Kanye West: $30 million
5. Timothy ג€œTimbalandג€ Mosley: $22 million

Odd. 50 and Jay stepped their money making game up big time. How is that possible? Not just off album sales right?

My guess would be that a lot of these rappers lost money on music in 2007-2008, but caked off their other deals.

Diddy said recently that he hasn't seen profits off Bad Boy records in years, he just does it cuz he loves the music business.

Kidna surprised that Akon is that low on that list given his involvment in and production of like 90% of songs released in 2008. If you remove non-music revenue, he's gotta jump up the chart pretty quickly.
