Makes sense, I always thought he sounded a bit like Lootpack as it is. Just means his shit will be harder to jack online.

Calm Tornado reminds me a lot of Mos Def at his best. Especially flow-wise.

"The Carpenter" is the ish. Easily one of best hip-hop songs of the year. Never gets old.

I can't wait to hear Sandman over Madlib beats.

This is dope, didn't even realize it had dropped until I checked this thread today. In the past I've tried to get into Sandman's music, but he's always left me a little bored. I made a point to check this though because he seems like a good fit with stones throw and I'm usually feeling their production.

After one listen I have to say it's pretty great, I still can't see myself listening to Sandman on a regular basis, but when I'm in the mood for some smart, artsy, everyman rap I'll definitely keep his name in mind.

No Madlib beats on this? Does he have a full length dropping with them this year too?

the ep is real dope. i think the artwork with his explanations for the tracks made it even more enjoyable. i also think the bonus track that wasn't on the ep may be better than any of the individual tracks on the ep. that song is non-stop quotables.

Elaborate on why you don't like this cat's music. Not because you should or you shouldn't like it, I'm just curious.

I don't think I like the EP as much as the last one, but that's ok because it doesn't sound anything like the last one. He's shown a great ear for beats on these two EP's even without really working with many established producers. Expectations are high for the full length.

That Sadat X song was released months ago, but X is really on a roll with the videos. I didn't think I'd be excited about a Sadat X album at this stage in his career, but everything he's leaked sounds great.

Funny that only a few years ago Despot, Homeboy Sandman, Elucid, Zesto, Masai Bey and billy woods all rocked Yule Prog, yet none of them headlined and it was 10 bucks.

I would pay a lot of money to see that show now.

For shame, this vids only got 859 views in over a week. How do these 40 something rappers make any money on the grind anymore? Or how does any underground cat for that matter. I just picked up that Homeboy EP on Itunes. Shit goes.
