In the late 90s a double release became mandatory for a solo artist to achieve gawd status, but it was perhaps the groups who proved more adept at entertaining over such an uncomfortably long listen. Did this arbitrary goal sidetrack any careers? Will we see a return of the double album? Is there a version of life after death with puffy's juvenile histrionics mixed out? We may never know.

all eyez on me
life after death
art of war
wu tang forever
blueprint 2
street's disciple
i am+nastradamus

...Shame cube never made a double album.
a YAEH YAEH! i know someone musta mentioned it already, but Cube's double album concept was HORRIBLE. War & Peace? :err: that's the era of Ice Cube music ALLLLL of us want to forget most  Ice Cube does NOT need to be making stripper songs like that. I CAN'T DO IT, SO I WON'T PUT MY BACK INTO IT

totally different story than for "Death Certificate" . It's not technically a double album, but it damn near coulda been. And it woulda been one of the BEST EVER if it was.

Sure it could, but for me it's more about being comprehensive than it is about the poll itself. As far as I know, mine is the definitive list of hip hop albums on the internet. Tryin' to get somethin' new goin', in this case I'll leave the six option choices to other lesser forums. I see what you're saying though; it's definitely cleaner and less daunting for voters to have only the top few presented. And what reissues?

Underground Kingz isn't the best, not by a fucking long shot, but it is most definitely my favorite.

i was just thinking about death cert this morning after looking at the biggie thread. its duality is better executed than gift/curse sweat/suit any of those gimmicks. most of these are just long ass albums.
1. Nas
2. Drake

that's pretty much it fam.

Mindbender you should really appreciate TRU's album, as it is where Silkk birthed your rhyme style.

I listen to that, Forever and Underground Kingz the most.

Killer Mike's I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind is missing.
