Jay Rock's album was ok, some bangers as far as beats go. He's pretty straight forward for the most part, has a strong vocal presence compared to the other guys in the group.

Ab-Soul's material is good, Long Term 1 & 2 + Long Term Mentality are all worth the listen.

Thanks for the suggestions, halfway through Longterm 1 right now, and it sounds alright.

Decided to check Schoolboy's first mixtape too, Schoolboy Turned Hustla, and 4 tracks in, it's quite nice imho.

Q has a great ear for beats. All of HnC production is great and varied enough to keep it interesting. It knocks all the way through as a whole album.

The beat on "Gangster In Designer" is one of my favorites. And "There He Go" is just classic. Early pic for AOTY for me.

Took a minute for me to get into this, but it's a great album. Probably better as an album than Section 80 even though Kendrick's a better rapper.

Kendrick is certainly NOT a better rapper. Q is the best in the crew, by a country mile.

Based on flow and subject matter I'd take Kendrick pretty easily. Q has a great ear for beats as others have pointed out, but from what I've heard, Kendrick is the better MC at this point.

cosigned.. Q is a very dope rapper, but his subject matter at times is on some stupid shit. give him sometime to grow and dude will be a complete beast..

I prefer Schoolboys attitude toward the treatement of women. Extra Pills. Section 80 gets tired about halfway and I end up skipping to Riggamortis. Schoolboy I can listen at straight through.
