nah, Be is better than this, but this is still really good.
I thought Be was pretty great, but, it had a few skippers on it. On the first couple of listens, I'm not feeling enticed to skip much of this LP. That said, this may change.

I've only listened once so it's too early to tell for sure, but this might be my favorite rap record released by a major label all year.

Didn't listen to any tracks prior to the full leak, and I got my hopes up because people talked about how this record was shaping up to showcase a more rugged Common.

Four or five tracks deep, and so far, so boring.

If you don't like the first 3 songs you should just turn it off because the boring stuff comes in toward the end of the record IMO. (I made my last post 7 songs in, not so sure I feel the same way about it now.)

Solid album, it was especially good to hear loops and sampling throughout. I'm thankful Common had the type of budget to pull that sound off. Here's a collection of samples from the Dreamer, The Believer lp:

What the fuck is the point of these 'samples' releases? This shit is taking all of the fun out of sampled beats.

I notice the blog Hip Hop Is Read does a whooooole fuckin lot of those sample releases. The one above originates from a blog in The Netherlands. I was surprised someone made that comp so quickly as well.

Personally, I'd probably rather listen to the samples comp than the Common album.

ג€œI had no idea that Common was using the piece we had done together on [a track] in which he also used the ג€˜Nג€™ word numerous times,ג€ Angelou said.

Angelou said she never knew Common used the ג€œNג€ bomb at all, calling it ג€œvulgar and dangerousג€ to the black community.

ג€œIג€™m surprised and disappointed. I donג€™t know why he chose to do that. I had never heard him use that [word] before. I admired him so because he wasnג€™t singing the line of least resistance.ג€

I'm diggin the fuck outta this album, although it does wander into "too-soulful" territory at times. Still, the production makes it work, and even though Common isn't exactly rappity-rapping like some would want him to, he still sounds good.

Com has definitely been a subliminal sniper for his entire career, and anyone who gets aggy about it is stepping into the roach motel. Not sure if Com is in a good position to do it nowadays, but still "Sweet" was dope as fuck and some of those things he says needed to be said.

you need to identify when you are being sarcastic.

this shit is just as pathetic as when Jay-Z said that shit about Fred Hampton.

I'm glad these elders are calling out these hip hop heads on their bullshit.

for fuck sakes... can't you stop saying 'n!gga' or 'b!tch' even ONCE in a while? like um, on the song with MAYA ANGELOU? you can put that self-destructive ghetto dweller talk on the rest of the album though, mmmkay thanks

seriously.
people are just mad at Drake cause he's the new kid on the block and he's at the top of the game. that's how it was when Jay-Z was on top, and when 50 Cent was on top too. Kanye was too weird of a target cause he was on some new hybrid rapper/producer/fashion icon shit, and Drake is just enough of a singer for people to be like "aw hell naw" to his skyrocketing success.

Common been not as dope as he used to be, and he's far from the sharpness he had when he went at Ice Cube.

Drake got LOTS of ammo to shoot at Common "Worst Gap Commercials Ever/Erykah Badu's Cashmere Handpuppet" Sense. I love Common since 'Breaker 1/9' and shit... but dude has been THE definition of "soft conscious rapper" more than any else in the game.

this battle should be FUCKING AWESOME.

Drake really should NOT turn this down. It's way better than battling Kanye West or Jay-Z, which would be some by-proxy-Lil-Weezy bullshit. Weezy F. can fight his own battles, he doesn't need Drake going Memph Bleek and Beans for him.

Drake should also get a beat from DJ Premier to do his dis record to Common

5/5 album you faggots. It gets an extra .5 rating because of how horrific Universal Mind Control was..and how underwhelming he's been since LWFC(which ive seen get hated on heavily here along with anything else Common related).
