Multi-platinum songwriter and music producer Johnny J, committed suicide in the LA County jail Oct. 3rd, ThugLifeArmy.com reports.

Johnny J is best known for his production work on Tupac Shakur's albums All Eyez on Me ('How Do U Want It,' 'Life Goes On,' 'All Eyez on Me,' ...) and Me Against the World ('Death Around the Corner')

According to early reports, Johnny J jumped off a tier in the jail causing his death the night of Oct. 3rd. He was in the county jail on a DUI charge.

the county jail cell i went into was just occupied by someone who hanged himself by tying the twirled bed sheets together then running them through the window bars and wrapped around his neck. obviously it's not tough in there but it seems regardless of the jail a good percentage of those who are in there are not happy with their lives in a more profound way than not makin it a big deal that you're doing a little county bid

he was one of the better Latino producers from the 90's man.....gave Pac quite a few hits....

"Knockin The Boots" and "Picture Me Rollin'" were some of my favorite productiuons from him....

he was on a 24 hour stay coming down from a DUI and he jumps off a tier?

nah, sounds like he got in a confrontation and niggas threw him off da tier and scattered before CO's knew what the fuck happened....then lied about shit when they were interviewed as witnesses
