Pre-ordered this a few days ago - been waiting for this album for fucking years, literally.
Don't be put off by the fact that 'somebody cool' is recommending this - it'll be dope. P-Brothers are sick. Standard.

Nice review from unkut.com
You know how thereגs always those dream team-ups that never seem to happen? גImagine if so and so did an whole album with whatshisname!ג Thatגs actually become a reality with the arrival of The Gas. Roc Marciano, Boss Money & Milano killing shit over hard-as-nails P Brothers beats? On paper, you canגt go wrong. After spending a day with this in constant rotation, Iגm happy to report that DJ Ivory and Paul S have exceeded every expectation I had for this project. Collecting previously vinyl-only material with all new tracks, P Bros. avoid the usual producer/DJ album mistakes of randomly cramming hundreds of guest rappers on every track and hoping something will stick. Delivering some of the most stripped-back, speaker-smashing production since the glory days of the Rick Rubin/Jazzy Jay sound that made Def Jam what it was, the focus is always on the MC.
When it was first released a couple of years ago, גBlam Blam For Nottinghamג was one of the hardest records Iגd heard in a long time, and it hasnגt lost any of itגs punch here. The crowning achievement of this album, however, is a track called גCaviarג featuring LI mentalist Roc Marciano. Not only does this manage to match the incredible גGame of Deathג, but it actually brought back that feeling of hearing גHalftimeג for the first time - itגs that good. Elsewhere, Milano is given a variety of different backdrops to flex his Uptown bounce over, while the Tray Bag and Eddie Cheeba show the suckers how itגs done in true Pelon fashion. Lesser known but still dope crew Res Connected and soloist $amhil also deliver, making The Gas a rare breed in this day and age - a skip-proof album.
After one listen,I think this is a very strong album. They even managed to flip a Donuts sample and do it up nicely.
I took them as a joke a few years ago after reading an interview where they just couldn't seem to stop saying "Heavy Bronx" every other sentence.
But they've definitely proved me wrong since then. And this album is dope, too.pz

I really listened to it ... overrated album ... The Tuff Crew ARCHIVES are better ... and that's old music ... gotta come more musically creative in 2008 ... I mean trying to keep it simple and hardcore and street is beautiful, but really, Hiphop production was taken to another level creatively in the 80's with artists like BDP, Dust Brothers, Ultramagnetic, L.O.N.S., Brand Nubian, Dr. Dre (who fell off after 1993) ... Insight, Edan, among quite a few others are on the level Hiphop production should be on at in 2008 ... This album is just not quite there ... It's a little elementary musically compared to the greats of today... Count Bass D's Dwight Spitz is another great example of something fresh for today compared to this album ..
