rough equivalent of being in the studio with Ice Cube in 2001. Nice to have on your resume, great to meet an idol, but ultimately it probably won't equal good music and lacks the meaning it had 5 years prior

Apologizes but I'm not up on Drake. I know he's a mulato lookin Canadian actor turned rapper.

Tell me, he was on You Can't Do That On Television and now is rapping with Wayne and Jay-Z? Honest question because I can't say whether or not he's dope or wack, but if he was say from New York or L.A. would be this popular?

Is it like the Tayo situation where he is the senator of Aruba but wouldn't be able to get a job working for Chuck Schumer handing out flyers if was living in the U.S.?

i do. so i did.

it's a realistic conversation that can be had now. when motherfuckers start talking about in in a few days or weeks... you'll realize that i'm not some fucking retarded little 13 year old kid trying to get attention from YOU, the Grand Dragon Klan Bamma Blastmaster.

on so many levels, it makes sense. Lil Wayne and Jay-Z done worked together. Drake has done at least 20 songs with Lil Wayne by now. Drake is more like Jay-Z than he is like Lil Wayne, with his image and rap style.
etc.

if nobody cares, let this thread evaporate.

seeing as how a Drake song with a Kanye West beat featuring Jay-Z would be one of the most surprising songs of the year... I can only hope I'm psychic (still) :grap:

he's managed to do a good job at industry networking but i have yet to see much evidence that he is actually popular

nah, i've heard him mentioned in random real life places (the gym, on the stoop amongst my teenage dominican ex-neighbors), and the general consensus was that he was better than wayne

doesn't translate to popularity exactly but good enough to show that he's not just in an internet bubble

so says the rumors on twitter...

~interesting stuff to think about while you are cooking your daily piff~

Kanye's management team is Drizzy's... it makes ~perfect sense to anyone who has been bitten by a radioactive hip hop spider~

if ~Sean "SuperUgly" Carter~ comes lazy... and Drake is extra inspired... ~it will be another case of 'Renegades' or even 'Mr. Carter' and I will celebrate a new day in hip hop where the leaders of the new school can equal the greatness of rap's past greats~

~peace to Canada, hip hop don't stop even though rap is outta control, and keep hope alive~
I feel like I just became the ?uestlove of :phila:

i'm not that cryptic, am I?

(every time i use the word cryptic, I think of the Atoms Family masterpiece that I never heard... )

anyways: Drake. yes. his verse on 'Every Girl' is nothing super special actually, but he's got lots better stuff.

This is on point. Jay-Z is on the road to hosting VH1 "Remembering the Bling Era" specials, not on the road to a comeback and certainly won't carry some teen heartthrob Canadian actor/rapper on his coattails wherever he ends up.

Still, I'm glad to hear that Drake is making moves, especially after he had that falling out with Spinner. I mean, sure, Spinner indirectly caused him to be wheelchair-bound, but they were supposed to be boys, you know?

Drake will never not be Jimmy. Its impossible. His whole angle on the show is aspiring to be a more commercial-sounding MF Grimm.

edit: I wonder if this photo will break the internet -

Drake overrated to me i don't see the hype behind him. Just a corny slick demeanor and limited range as a singer.

Yo, mac, I told Emp you shouted him out at a show and he vowed not to shit on you again. Well, there goes that truce. j/k

for the record, Drake is good. only thing that throws me off is that some of what he does reminds me of Elzhi. like he should be where Drake is, IMO.

sometimes his voice is annoying

he's like a blend of kanye and wayne

he should just stick with the style he had as Jimmy on Degrassi

I like Drake. "So Far Gone" was a dope mixtape, but I'm prepared for a dissapointing album. He's been quoted in interviews as saying his album will be way more typical/industry in terms of content and style.

I also recently found out he get paid $500 less than twista per show. And twista got plaques.

The game is crazy right now.
