i like that shit, birdy. i'm always a fan of the plodding, stagger-style drums you have on this shit. the vocal chops are great too. almost bordering on overwhelming, you make finesse it and make it work. would like to hear the drums a bit more prominent though.
shup - opposite! bring that sample up and let it sing. the filter in the second movement should be a bit more pronounced. you might consider putting a subtle delay or reverb on the sample to blend the chops together and fill out the air a bit more.. but this is good and heading in the right direction.
sounds good for now. and you're so funny citizen!

I think we should have a different Sound Lab staple host each Cheap Shoots volume. So, Falside did the first, Chance is handling this one, and so on and so on. Sort of like the DJ Kicks or Back to Mine series. That might keep the favoritism complaints to a minimum, and it gives whoever the producer-in-chief is for the volume to make last call on cover art, tracklist, etc.
Between Cheap Shoots and the mixtape, the Sound Lab almost feels resuscitated.

The mixtape was for more complete songs, whether or not they had vocals. This is more of a beat tape.
Now that the mixtape's finished, let the submissions continue.
Also, I think the beats on these Cheap Shoots volumes should be less than two minutes. That way, you can put more on them, and it feels more like a beat tape. But I am just one man with one opinion.
