this is one of those albums that will get major rotation in my car until I like it. Cherrywine had the same effect...

Didn't fuck with Cherrywine too tough. This, on the other hand, is real dope.

'Black Up' is dope. Dismissed after reading the comments here, stupidly, but like Cenzi says it's a real grower. Loving it.

If you don't like Black Up you're either a faggot or you're regularly breaking NYC rappers to the public.

"Black Up" wasn't discussed in this thread. There was another thread for that. I didn't like the first Shabazz Palaces tracks I heard but they grew on me. The two EPs and Black Up range from good to great.

Agreed.

Also, I"d totally slept on these EPs. I'm listening to Of Light right now - shit's incredible.

I was pleasantly surprised at how different the EPs sound from Black Up.

Same. I'm digging Of Light just as much if not more than I liked the album on first listen.

their live show is surpsringly dope, especially considering it's just two dudes standing over a mixter with a microphone, rapping and hitting buttons.

still, they somehow kill it. i was with a bunch of people who don't usually go for 'abstract' rap who've never even heard these guys before, everyone loved it

Better that it's discussed in here rather than the other thread that got hijacked by retards. Good album.

Shabazz Palaces will be performing in NY this weekend: Friday at SOBs, Saturday at Brooklyn Bowl.

These ladies are label mates of Shabazz Palaces. They also hail from Seattle and appeared on Black Up. Butterfly returns the favor on their new album, which can be streamed in full below:
