Just saw this posted up on another forum: -
just heard via a buddhist listserv that Guru (formerly of Gang Starr) is in a coma in new york after suffering cardiac arrest.

his sister Tricia asks that people please send prayers for his full recovery.

i know he has some fans here.

Hopefully they won't have to fly him from JFK 2 LAX to see a specialist.

If he wakes up from the coma, the game plan is to take a rest. A vacation from work will help him avoid being the illest brother. He likely has a long way to go. Only time will tell if he has suffered permanent brain trauma that might affect his form of intellect and render simple tasks beyond comprehension or much too much to handle without supervision 24-7-265. Rehab will take plenty of discipline; he'll have to give up all deadly habits. Recovery is also very costly. GURU, if you gotta get over, my advice to you is to always speak ya clout to healthcare professionals so that you don't face betrayal when credit is due - make 'em pay for as much as possible.
