I think this cements my belief that Guru was the gay rapper and died of AIDS.

Furthermore, I would like to state that Guru had more to do with THIS statement than that shit Solar wrote.

I also believe Lenny Kravitz is somehow involved.

I used to look up. What a way to go out.

Can't wait 'til Premier speaks on this.
you still hand out CD-Rs at "gay rappers" shows and try to intimidate high schoolers that make more money than you? you still a bum
I'm gonna come snatch you out of 5th period algebra and beat that ass.

And you better have my cookies bitch!
take it to the PMs and not this thread ass bandit

Shitty news.

I also doubt the authenticity of that letter.

Gang Starr was (and shall remain) one of my favorite groups of all time.

Letter has 13-year-old writing a note from their parents to get out of going on the boring field-trip to the science museum type of feel to it.

RIP Guru. He wasn't the most "lyrically lyrical" or whatever the fuck, but there's a reason dude's lyrics are some of the most sampled.

Okay, I really need to finish that analysis of "Step In The Arena" that I started and never finished for TROY last year. I can't stand to read another comment about how Guru wasn't "lyrical" no matter how well intended...

What's really sad - now that clown even ruined man's death....
Imagine if that final letter was making peace with his former partners and going out in peace - it would have made everything almost cool at the end.
Now it leaves bad taste to everyone's mouth and I can't even feel for Guru as much as I would like to - after all, that clown didn't come to his life without him allowing to...
but IF that Solar clown wrote that letter himself then it's the most disrespectful thing ever - how can you write such a bullshit to man's final statement ?
No one should do such a thing without getting punished - at least at the end

His verse on "Above the Clouds" is as "lyrical" and "deep" as most verses that get props on here.

It also sucks that Guru & Premier weren't on good terms.

Its Clarence Williams III, very underrated actor, he stared in such epics as "Tales From The Hood" & "Deep Cover". I gotta make this post Guru-related so here's my fav Gangstarr tracks of all time!

I consider him "lyrical" in the actual real sense of the word. What I mean is when people give props to the "super scientifical" bullshit that hip hop heads think is "lyrical".

Damn he was truly one of the best yet and will be terribly missed. It is so sad that Solar prevented a much needed Gangstarr reunion. Someone I know who knows people in Year Round Records told me Primo has said no one touches Solar until he does. I just hope that Bumpy Knuckles gets hold of him.

This shit really fucking sucks. the whole way dudes biz was just thrown out there, rumors, could have been some kind of family fight, his relationship with former friends. Shit was just disrespectful to a really important figure in his last days IMO. Even if it turns out Guru wanted no parts of anyone but Solar in his life, all that is secondary at best..

RIP Guru.

Step in The Arena is one of my favorite albums, "ever made".
NICE CAT!
