Premier, no question. Although this is Vibe we're talking about so Toomp or Banner will get it.

Thinking kanye might grab this one for no reason in general other than it's vibe.

Premier would get it if it was up to me and I wouldn't be mad if RZA, Pete Rock, The Bomb Squad, Prince Paul and a few others won. With that being said I see Dre or Kanye winning this.

SOUL SAMPLES already won.

bracket is pretty suspect in some areas but it's better than i expected.

Toomp at 16 is despicable though. Neptunes at 1 is a joke too. I love Mannie Fresh but c'mon son. same goes for Swizz but he's actually wack.

there's a small handful of post 2000 southern producers ill take over Lil Jon any day.

PIMP C should have found his way on here

Polow, The Heatmakerz, and Tip got ROBBED

Tedd Riley, Mr. Lee, Dust Brothers, Herby, all laughable. let's replace them with Madlib, Danja, Buckwild, and my son Khayree.

I know he's more known for R&B but Teddy Riley's influence on most of the other producers in the tournament cant be under estimated. He was basically the Pharrell of the late 80s-early 90s and pretty much perfected the R&B/Rap mix.

agreed, which is why I think the tournament is a bit strange given the scope of the selections. you have music legends pitted against beat makers, musicians known more for their pop and r&b works being compared to hip hop pioneers.

if we're talking impact, half those names don't belong, same goes is true if we're strictly talking craftsmanship.

is it even fair to put producers of the past against current producers? It's a never ending argument.
