you wouldn't want to see cormega get on a goyte remix.
i think a middle ground is possible for him, i just don't know if he'll ever find it. i think ideally if he can get on some beats that don't sound completely dated but still bump, and get some guest spots from guys like exquire and troy ave and smoke dza, he could really have something serious on his hands that would appeal to both traditionalist and trendy sides of the fence

My real beef with this is the das racist dude, he takes half the song with a shitty verse (I'm admittedly negatively biased). The rest is not bad at all if not really great either. I'm really more disappointed about where this is going, mayhem can do better than riff raff and das racist collabs

My problem with these Das Racist guys is that they seem to be on some "I rap like shit, but it's cool because I know I rap like shit."

Have they ever shown that they're capable of rapping well?

I will admit to feeling loose butt hole having listened to them with greater frequency recently. That Heems dude is dope when he wants to be, but that seems to be rarely. I saw them in Frisco and they were horrible.

I think the issue is that he really hasn't brought anything legitimate to the table yet in my opinion. Self Induced Illness is cool and the guy has talent, but he hasn't made an official album (and I use that term in a loose sense, because it could take the form of a free album or mixtape with original production these days) that shows an ability to bring an original perspective over really solid production. There is a lane available for NY rappers who don't want to go the trendy route, but they have to be really good at making full-length products in one form or another. I don't like Action Bronson as much as a lot of people seem to on here, mainly because I find his work to be really derivative, BUT to his credit he makes albums that one can listen to and enjoy front to back. Meyhem may or may not have that ability, but he hasn't shown it yet. All I've seen from him is an ability to string together bars relatively similarly to G. Rap or Pun... definitely an admirable skill, but the well will run dry if he doesn't display a bit more depth and artistry.

I agree with this. I've heard a couple verses from him that I liked. Not a lot though.

Saw how many features there were and thought I was gonna be disappointed. Not the case though. Shit's dope.

Despot is a character, man. I'm probably over a foot taller and 100 lbs heavier than him, but I'm pretty convinced he could beat me up, and even if not, he looks/sounds like he would shank me if it came down to it.
