thoughts on the album as a whole?

As far as Nas as an emcee goes, it's >>> Nigger, >>> Nastradamus, >>> Streets Disciple, >>> HHID. For an overall album it's >>> I Am and Gods Son too. Almost every verse he drops on here has rewind status. For a guy that came into the game almost 20 years ago, that's pretty fuckin incredible. Longevity-wise, he's dethroned LL and Face. No rapper has maintained a career this long and still managed to drop not just one or two, but a series of verses of such a high caliber.

i'll die rhyming.

or when i'm old, listening to NaS, the G.O.A.T. of Hip Hop

thanks, Req.

Nas is the most important rapper on the planet. Eminem, Lil Wayne and Jay-Z, you are not on this level, and your music doesn't have this much universal, genius meaning.

nas & damian marley-patience
http://thefader.cachefly.net/nas-damian ... tience.mp3

you can right click it and d/l it

this tune is too big, every tune i've heard so far has been rewind material, bars, production, this album sounds so refreshing from the tunes i've heard so far, straight mind food, sounds corny, but fuck it, the music is peng(good), nas and damian are goin on heavy, classic collaboration, nas hasen't lost it, he never did lyrically, it's just some of the soundscapes his chosen to spray his bars over recently haven't been what you would expect to hear nas spray over, but the beats damian has given him is pure fire, this album sounds like its gonna be a classic, i hope heads support these brothers and represent and cop that shit in the stores, let some revolutionary's go platinum for once, for real, you know this, thats the way i see it anyway, ha ha

thats some london shit, london all day, everday you know, ha ha, but on a serious note, the streets in london are influenced by grime/hip hop/bashment(dancehall/roots reggae) and local cockney slang, thats the streets in london, thats the slang your gonna hear when you walk the roads out here in any hood in london

Dope beat.

Nice chorus.
Resolved Question
Does Biggie Smalls hate HipHop???

"Shoulda been a cop, Fukc Hiphop"

I've been wondering what he meant by this.
Additional Details
Rap sucks, HipHop is better

Best Answer - Chosen by Voters
Naw, he likes hip hop and rap. He was just referring to if he hadn't started rapping he would've been a cop.
So he's cursing it, not that he doesn't like it, just for the sake of it.

the production and Damien Marley make this pretty much unlistenable. Nas comes off at times

Marley>Nas on this album. This sounds like a Marley album with Nas trying to fit in. Still turned out good.

and honestly, Lil Wayne would be MUCH closer to being really, truly on the all-time great list if he dropped more verses like he did on 'My Generation'. This album is for all time history across the world. I'm listening to the last song for the first time, and I'm so thankful this album exists. Classic.

Nas comes off as corny at times, with trying his hardest to drop knowledge. The kids singing choir is corny as well.
