Yeah I really liked the packaging. The Garvey quote and Africa thing on the cover were dope.supnick wrote:bought this today

oh man i wanna buy it so bad but hmv told me the special edition is coming out on the 27th
and i think it will have bonus tracks
fuck it im buying both
word mindbender, if you take the dope songs that got cut of 'nigger' into account, cut the track with game & chris brown, you have a sick album
nas on def jam> what nas would be doing if he were still on columbia

I'm with you on this. He's on a whole different level right now, going on his 19th year and keeping it (beyond) true in ways none of these newer cats couldn't begin to approach.... But kicking back for the next one could be good for balance.Mindbender Futurama wrote:I hope Nas releases a less topic oriented hip hop record this year too, just to balance the steez

Lost Tapes 2 would be ILL.
Or maybe finally that Nas & DJ Premier album. Just two of the realest coming together like what everyone's been waiting for, for the love of real hip hop MC'in and DJin. I know they both want it, to go in and make that incredible album. Especially today it wouldn't only be dope but it would make a lot of sense in both their respective careers, and for the game.
Other fun projects for later: that AZ collaboration (maybe throw Mega in the mix), Lost Tapes 3-4-5, maybe something with Scarface and Ice Cube, Illmatic 2 (for real this time), more albums with Premo... a REWRITE album now with the heavier voice (imagine rewritten versions of The Message, Life's A Bitch, Halftime, 2nd Childhood, Take It In Blood etc from a true veteran's perspective).... maybe hook up with MB in T-Dot Heaven and really take it to the next level *laughs* Yeah, some fun ideas popping up. I also wish he would hook up and at least do some 2011 songs with Ghostface, Q-Tip, Naughty By Nature, Masta Ace, Slaughterhouse, Cormega, KRS-One, maybe holler at Prodigy when he gets out for some blow-your-mind-out-the-frame fucking truth-speaking, like MB would put it.
Ha ha, I'm definitely going Mindbender on this one, but it's a big and important topic
Also, I remember at one point Nas was talking about making a double album: disc 1 produced by Premier and disc 2 produced by Dr Dre. It would be the project of a lifetime, and he seemed pretty serious about it. DAMN... if only Dre didn't take so long with the Detox project.... good going, Dre. Nah, but also big dream album.

Are you saying that HHID is his weakest lyrical performance and that Nastradamus is overall better than Street's Disciple from a rap perspective?

This is my favorite album of 2010 so far. I think the whole project is dope.
NAH MEAN!?
I even like the LiL Wayne verse..although i was really surprised to see his name in the credits for this. Knaan did his thing as well...so happy to see him involved with this. He toured the world opening for Damien back in 2007 and their music works well together...
Dope to see Dennis Brown involved as well...reggae legend.

Was anyone else in Brooklyn last night?? Holy shit!! That was prob the best show I ever went to in my life. I have been going to shows since 95. Been to a million at Wetlands, Tramps, SOB's, etc; Sneaker Pimps, Rock the Bells. Seen the Roots mad times. Seen just about every Hip Hop artists that I love over the last 15 years.
Maaan, Damian Marley went all the way in last night. And Nas was so on point. I have seen Nas mad times. Half the time is is pretty good, the other half he sucks. He's fucked up, drunk whatever, can't remember his line. Has zero breath. But not last night. He did slow down for a bit when he did a couple of songs because he was going hard for like an hour, but he was crazy on point.
But Damian and the band was the real treat. He was fuckin amazing. Aside from just nailing all the DR joints, and Welcome to Jamrock joints, he did his father's songs, and I swear, it could have been Bob. It was so dope.
I don't know if I will ever seem him live again, and I doubt him and Nas will ever be touring together again. If you get a chance to see these dudes, please do yourself a favor and go. Worth every penny.

I don't believe you can win with rap videos anymore, unless Spike Jonze is directing them, however, this is on some next-level ICP shit.

i like the style a lot but neither artist has any charisma in it.......... woulda been better if they just still frame stared down the camera like kanye.............. or did some blow
so what the hell is going on with the promotion of this album? The first video came out way too late and was one of the worst things i've ever seen. Now this comes out like 8 months after the album dropped and i'm sure it's not gonna get any play............
when as we enter first came out, around winter 09, I heard it being played a bit. Then they didn't push it fast or hard enough (nh)........ honestly the only props i can give is that they made patience a single. "My generation" woulda been the obvious choice but I prefer patience.
