It's good to see a crew getting justified love. Don't know why it took so long for the P to come around on Kendrick.

This had the unintended, if not unexpected, effect of narrowing their audience to little more than just ageing nostalgists and liberal college students. They cordoned off their choir and proudly took to preaching.

Oh, the irony.

Q is one of my favorite new artists. Dude has the perfect mixture of lyricism and "I dont give a fuck" bravado I appreciate in my music.

HnC gets major bump over here. Did they release a physical copy?

dubcnn.com wrote:Rumors had been circulating for months about this deal and it was finally made official today. Top Dawg Entertainment, home to rising stars Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, Schoolboy Q and Ab-Soul, has inked a joint venture deal with Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records.

According to the Top Dawg CEO, Kendrick Lamar's upcoming album "Good Kid In A Mad City", along with the future solo projects from the artists, collectively known as Black Hippy, will be released through this new joint venture.

more than likely, they see the formula Top Dawg has adopted working for them and will let them continue to operate how they have. if it was just solely Aftermath, i could see them being held back.

Hopefully you're right. Not like Shady Records or G-Unit Records were overly shackled in their heyday.

Still I never like artists who have so easily and frequently released their material to the public to be tied into the extra oversight/influence/control of a major label situation.

But it could lead to some really great things for these guys if Aftermath/Interscope give them enough leeway and provide them with even a bit of financial and promotional support.
