that was pretty dope actually but he really doesn't say shit to jay. jigga mayne ain't done, he's still building the empire... he's got bank compared to rappers, but not compared to bill gates man. so i don't buy the argument 'you should be conscious ass kweli now cause u rich'....
1. Nas
2. Drake

that's pretty much it fam.

He's definitely talented but going at famous rappers when you're a nobody is nothing new regardless of whether what you're saying is true or not.
IMHO, there is no lyricist now or before that can match the lyrical dexterity of Qwel.

nah, he just comes level-headed with it. it's not some cheap ass mad rapper rant.

i like how he says how Jay should rhyme like Talib Kweli now. he's dead right.

Jay-Z could spit Fu-Schnicken speed pro-Illuminati Roc Nation Empire rap and it would go double platinum right now. Not only that, it would influence the game as it stands.

and most people don't even consciously know why 50 fell off, but dude articulated it pretty clearly. i always said 50 took himself out more than anyone else did.

but also, this song at least seems like dude thought about it for a while before he put it down, which is more than can be said for MOST new rap that comes out these days.

did you hear that new Kid Cudi song 'Dangerous'? oh my lord, we have fallen so far, my friends. LOL.

you know what i think about rap.

No. Why? Talib Kweli is a middle-brow hippie with no rhythm and nothing interesting to say and hes a really poor writer as well. Kweli is fucking smart in some ways though, making himself synonymous with 'conscious rap' eventhough he makes nothing of the kind "yo, for the people, we are all equal, bla bla bla." It's weird to see his name being brought up like this IMO, especially when there's Black Thought.

And yeah, who is this guy and why is he giving advice to succesful rappers?
Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly

and whoever said Jay isn't rich... fuckin retard. is he upper middle class?

I think this is one of those few, FEW, cases where MB actually brings something good to the table, but y'all are so used to jumpin all over his shit, you didn't even hear the song without bias.

doesn't really matter. i know that he is a dude who made a great first impression on me though.

truth is truth.

why would someone need money to make a comment on the state of things?

the best part about it, is that he never comes off like a hater.

he's not even the greatest rapper, but the song is well-thought out and executed.

So what exactly is the truth that's been dropped here? That some charity chump change from some new money millionaires is going to correct all the systemic evils in this world? These guys already pay taxes.

You know who I want to hear call out established rappers? Other established rappers. Jaz-O had some funny shit to say about Jay-Z but nobody gave a fuck. You know when they did? When Nas popped off.

Also, this guy confessed that it took 50 Cent for him to stop buying Ja-Rule's music.

What the fuck made this queer start buying Ja-Rule's music in the first place?

Very good question. If people want some new blood to like try a real lyricist like Shad not some corny pussy like this who is an opportunist.

Dude's from New Orleans. I saw him do an opening set for The Knux and Lupe Fiasco over a year ago. Show was lame.

This song is over a year old, also. I think he just recently decided to make a video for it, though.

A CHANGE HAS COME!!! Witness the rebirth of Hip-Hop as it re-manifests itself in the form of the lyrical impresario Dee-1, New Orleans next hidden gem destined to take over the game.

Penning soon to be thought provoking classics like Young Obama, One Man Army, & I Hate Money, Dee is one of a small number of Hip-Hop artists that specialize in making music that has a positive and uplifting message while still appealing to the masses. Growing up in New Orleans, home of the likes of Lil Wayne, Soulja Slim, B.G. and The Birdman, Dee-1 admits to being exposed to the same circumstances as the artists that put New Orleans on the map but is determined to represent "The Big Easy" with a different viewpoint by using inspirational and insightful rhymes in his music.

was planning on hating this but this dude is pretty good. i'd like to hear more of his stuff. i have a sneaking suspicion his music could be overbearingly preachy; which isn't a good look. he's got skills though.
