As far as his voice goes, I'd say he's trying to sound like ghost, and he gets pretty annoying sometimes when he stays high-pitched and nasal for the entire song. His voice is definitely about five times weaker than ghost's is, as far as power and timbre is concerned.

See, to me that similarity is the accidental result of trying to sound like AZ but being a red-headed Albanian Jew or whatever he is.

I like his voice though, in context anyway.

Absolutely. But if Ghostface himself can't even be fucking bothered to try to rap like Ghostface, Action Bronson will do as an alternative.

He's not nearly as multi-dependent as AZ...

It's definitely Ghostface's flow minus a couple dimensions. The alliteration is reminiscent of Rawse too. Don't see the AZ similarities at all.

I have his email, I didn't realize we were really betting.

Keep in mind though, he may have heard either comparison more than he cares to have, and might not neccessarily give an "honest" answer...you know how rappers are (And not without reason since everyone is always in fear of being called a biter or a 2010 version of "insert legendary name"). For example; I have never seen Jay Electronica really, fully cop to the Nas similarities, even though they are beyond obvious.

He retreated my Troy post where I directly compare him to ghostface, so I doubt he's this sensitive about it.

Kinda funny how mofongo is so great but the west african equivalent fufu is so terrible.

i just googled it, looks nasty

this whole soup with a mound of white substance and a fish on top thing isn't doing it for me

according to the recepy you boil the base vegetables, you fry it for mofongo. it's likely that's your difference right there

They use ripened plaintains and that changes the whole equation for the worse....

Fufu preparation is very regional, I have eaten plenty of it (only versions from Ghana, Liberia and Nigeria though) and it never had plantain in it. The Fufu I have eaten was basically a thick porridge meant to be eaten as a starchy accompaniment to a meat or vegetable. Almost like a sticky rice, for lack of a better word, so the preparation was very neutral. I'm sure in other regions though, it could be totally different.

Sometimes when he's rocking a track by himself he tends to run out of steam towards the end, like on this track. Both his rhymes get lazy at the end and he sounds like he's struggling to keep his voice in a higher-pitched ghostface timbre the whole time.

i haven't read the whole thread in a while, so i don't remember if it's been mentioned, but i always figured his biggest influence was probably pun. i could see the ghost thing in his voice, but i hear pun in his rhymes.

You hear Pun contemplating his next meal in his rhymes, or Pun rhyming? The former seems more likely.

The Ghostface image-flurry, sensory thing is in full effect on most of his songs. Maybe Pun was similarly influenced.

Hus will be dumbfounded beyond belief when he realizes that we all really dig a gingigger rappuh who rolls with a "rough, raw and rugged" rhyme style AND reps the boulevard hard... and still think he is a clown to the nth degree. TALENT RULES, bitchmouth.
