Earl's playing the venue that's right next to my office. Instead of making me excited, now I just worry that his fans are going to pee on our flowers.

If I really have no interest in hearing most of Doris live, I'm guessing his live show isn't going to transcend the meh I find that album, right?

sonically, the album doesn't lend itself well to a live environment. add earl's mediocre stage presence, and you'll have a not so great performance.

but the album is good though. really good. you should revisit it.

http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/news/id.2 ... -will-i-am
Tyler, the Creator says will.i.am is a "mark" making "butt" music even though he is "talented."

Tyler, the Creator criticized will.i.am's career decisions today (October 29).

During a series of Twitter updates, Tyler, the Creator also praised will.i.am's talent while criticizing his career choices.

The rapper also informed his followers of a conversation that he recently had with will.i.am concerning his longevity in music.

During the series of Twitter updates, Tyler also criticized will.i.am's decision to sue Pharrell recently. Pharrell, who has worked with Tyler, the Creator, has also said that he was disappointed by will.i.am's decision to sue him over the "i am" in i am OTHER.

As much as I don't mind how diverse Will.I.Am is, I know he will never put out another like Spare Change. I could tell that was the album he wanted to release along with the collab project with Sergio Mendes.

Fuck anybody who thinks this is a bad thing. It might result in shitty music, but artists pandering to their fan's desires is the foundation for a crap sandwich.

That's not always the case. I think with Will.I.Am, he's tried so many things that were good and no one was as receptive which made him say fuck it. If he wanted to, I think he could go back to making what he once was and get better recognized for it; probably with a different twist on it as well. Maybe not within the EDM/Eletronica/Dance realm which he is being more so known for now but maybe in another genre.

Didn't the last black eyed peas album tank? Wills stock is in the toilet. Even the least discerning audiences out there can see through cynicism that blatant. His advice isn't even that valid, given his current circumstances.

Haven't watched this yet, but part of me wishes this was Tyler being interviewed by Norm MacDonald's Larry King from SNL:

Not sure if someone's already mentioned this, but Earl Sweatshirt is currently sitting on a finished LP. I project a summer 2015 release date. It will be wild.

Listening to his debut is tantamount to experiencing an aural rape and nothing he's dropped since then is any less rapey.

By far the most overhyped cat since Todd Van Poppel.

Listened to 45 yesterday. Pretty lousy. Earl w/o Tyler The Creator beats is no Earl to me. If I am to be honest with myself my interest in him and his music dropped dramatically once he kind of diverged from the group and decided to explore topics other than rape and necrophilia. The 2009-2011 period will forever go down as a classic era in terms of that kind of Neptunes-inspired, macabre rap. Once Goblin came out and the hipsters came out in the wash it was a wrap.

Seriously. Lol @ needing Tyler beats. That shit was one of the worst things about his older projects.
