I remember liking some of Wolf, so gave this a listen. Damn near unlistenable. Schoolboy and Kanye came trough though.

Everything post-Goblin has been so heavily aping Neptunes/N.E.R.D./Pharell, it's nauseating.

I mean production mainly, but a lot of the hooks/singing too.

Yeah ... i don't really fuck with it to be honest.
I mean i fuck with it because its N.E.R.D. but I always thought that Tyler was the type of guy to chart his own path. That's sort of what caused folks to latch on to him. He was doing his own thing and DGAF.
IMO it's cool when you acknowledge the influence and flip it into its own thing but when you are outright emulating its lame ...
I remember reading somewhere that Tyler now sounds like a N.E.R.D. cover band. Apt description.

track with schoolboy q is good , the rest of the album is not my cup of tea
the disclaimer at the beginning had me thinking "bastard" and "earl" wouldn't be on the list.
2. Earl Sweatshirt - Earl
Perhaps the strongest single concentrated collection of technical rapping this decade
hard to argue with this

i gotta revisit doris and goblin. especially doris. i remember thinking it was bloated and directionless, but mostly being disappointed that it was about being lonely and depressed instead of raping biches. the new joint went further in this direction and left me underwhelmed.

No diss but the list is complete bullshit. WOW.
For one, the JAOT projects are ranked waay too low. & the Mike G project beating out Bastard, Wolf, Doris, both Internet projects ... seriously?
Is this list for real? DUDE

& can the author of that article please provide more justification as to why the ranking is the way it is. 2-3 sentences just isn't enough. The little you've mentioned also makes it seem like you don't know what you're talking about and don't really listen to the group like that. Again, no diss.

to saying "Stapleton" is the best OF song ever. I 100% agree.

Stapleton knocks. Entire mixtape / album was pretty great though. Earl's strongest work by a wide margin.

^^^couple other joints off "earl" i'd put right next to stapleton. like they said on doris "nigga why you so depressed talking about your feelings all the time? we wanna hear raps"
the earl tape had feelings on there too but more balance. give the dude some vicodin
