i have no idea it was just an assumption. but it seems like hes way more popular then when he was fat n dusted
All I know is "Depart from Me" and "Movies for the Blind" pretty much charted around the same when they were released. It took a lot more than 2000 units a week to chart on the Billboard 200 back in 2002, though-probably 5000 minimum. And it was a lot harder for independent rap releases to have the right distribution to get the first week charts edbut/Soundscan numbers. DFM seemed to have a lot of hype and then sunk without a trace. Cage now has a Hollywood star for a friend, but who the fuck is talking about Cage, let alone buying his music or going to his shows? I admit I am out of the emo loop, but I don't think Cage is popular at all. Last I checked he was still playing small ass shows like a whole bunch of other indy rappers or opening up for irrelevant indy rockers. I remember him complaining about what he was getting paid to open up for more popular ( at the time) indy-emo-rock-rap artists during the Hell's Winter era. But is anyone going to a Cage show? I don't think he was ever that popular but he had a certain appeal that peaked 8 years ago. He complained about not getting paid by Eastern Conference. Then Def Jux overvalued him and put out some shit that failed to earn any new fans and alienated his old ones. FWIW, I was defending Cage when everyone was calling him fag/emo for not looking like a fat 12 year old wigger anymore.

If he IS making more money these days, then good for him. With all his past complaining about money, lack of output/ticket sales, and being "unemployed"- somehow I doubt it.
You're probably right. I'd still pay to see the biopic if that ever happens though.

So when Sean Price stole $500 from you, did you "carve his face in" or "leave his whole shit leaking"?

One of you guys should step to him at one of his Babooncock Saintz shows. He has it coming.
Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly

Well, last two shows I saw Cage at, there were was good turnout. One of them, that was about a year ago or so, was completely sold out. This was when Depart From Me dropped. Almost about half a year later, he came back to DC for a bigger venue and about the same amount of people were there. But it wasn't packed or sold out. But that was way way way after MTVu picked up one of his vids and blasted it out there.

He might get more popularity now that he's on Kid Cudi's new album though. Who knows. I know when Eminem mentioned him in on his first album with some disses, people were like "who the fuck is Cage?". I kept up with him before that but I know I was trying re-trace how the hell they knew each other from hearing Em's lyrics "Role Model".

funny thing is: if anyone is crazy enough to fly across the ocean and confront hustlecrowe at one of his shows, spit in his face, and end up torturing him "hostel" style, it would be probably be comedy quadafi.
