Q-Tip beats in 2010

Post by Nav »

so people will have to think and listen to those dope drums instead of just clicking "Ski" automatically.

Kanye West - That's my bitch.
Kanye West - Chain Heavy

Mo' needed.

Naw, he likes hip hop and rap. He was just referring to if he hadn't started rapping he would've been a cop.
So he's cursing it, not that he doesn't like it, just for the sake of it.

This thread may or may not get locked, but I'm going to have to put M2C in anyway. I have been saying for years and years that Q-Tip is the most slept on producer in Hip Hop. There are a couple of others out there as well, but I say Tip is even more because a lot of the time, people don't even realize what Tip has produced (especially a majority of the Tribe beats).

I honestly believe that any album that Tip is involved with turns out to be really solid. I don't now why more MC's are not trying to track him down for help. The Tribe albums were exceptionally produced at the time. The Infamous was overseen by Tip, and I believe that despite Hav and P just being in the zone, the album would not have had the same fluidity without Tip there to tie it all together. Every producer who was working on Illmatic said the entire dynamic of the album changed after Tip did One Love. There is just so much to say about the dude.

The Renaissance is easily one of my favorite albums of the last decade. The production was amazing on that as well. I won't even get into the subject matter, which was REAL grown man shit (Blueprint 3? lol).

I hope Nas truly is working with Q-Tip. It might change the way people look at him, because he needs to come through with a great solo album next time. People are getting tired of these bullshit Nas solo albums.

Q-Tip could be making that Pharrell money if he stopped fucking around. Way more $ on doing beats for people than whatever ATCQ brought in over the years.

to make that pharrell money he would have to start making soft batch beats though. can't see that many pop stars wanting drums like this

It wouldn't be overnight but you're under-estimating Q-Tip's talent and name in the industry. He's been around for decades and while he keeps a low profile, he has already produced tracks for the following pop stars like Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson and Whitney Houston.

If he wants he can tailor tracks just like any great producer. I'm not saying he is gonna do the Deee-Lite reunion album but Q-Tip has worked with a plethora of artists from all different genres. He could do something if he wanted to.

He's Michael Stipe's favorite rapper.

Plus, if Christina Aguilera can reach out to DJ Premier for some tracks, I can see Q-Tip getting his production to some more pop star sensations. If he wanted to.

While I love the "Q-Tip production appreciation thread" posts, the list of his 2010 beats would be cool. G33k on.

Q-Tip been a beast.

He's one of the reasons Mobb Deep-The Infamous was so fuckin dope. Not to mention 1/3 of the Ummah (w/Dilla and Ali Shaheed).

Fuck, his last solo was some grown man fly shit.

Just heard Chain Heavy

Hip Hop alive and well.

Ali Shaheed didn't really have that much to do with The Ummah. It was mostly Tip and Dilla.

I'm probably not feeling the Chain Heavy beat as much as some of you, but Tip absolutely murdered every beat on his last solo.

Was not from an album that I know of. It may be just a loose track, or may show up on a Cons mixtape. Not sure to be honest. I think I got it from Con's twitter.

Oh yeah Q-Tip's a beast alright... It sounded like he was gonna lose his mind at the end of that song he was on for Black Sheep's album. I like the song he did recently with Kanye where it was a replay of a Jackson's sample and the other song "We Can Make It Better", they're a good musical duo as well as him and Raphael Saadiq.

Good looking out. I had never seen this. ATCQ is my favorite group of all time. Bar none. It hurts me to know that these brothers were at one time so mad at each other. Still, I cannot wait to see this. I love them to this day, they are my favorite group ever.

You haven't heard The Renaissance? :bunk:
So this whole thing was put together by that Michael Rapaport guy right? I've seen him at some shows out in Cali before. It kind of weirded me out, because I just recognized him from a few sitcoms. I'm really looking forward to this.

"Wicked = Genuinely loves Hiphop and respects it because he grew up during the time when it wasn't full of southern mongoloids and Lil Wayne rappers. From his mixes you can tell he knows his shit. The problem is, when you are a smart dude preaching to a bunch of fucking morons, you end up getting singled out as the douche."
