Curren$y drops Cigarette Boats tomorrow, here's a making of vid-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... k_kL2COfGU

As much as I disliked The Stoned Immaculate, it was more because of the beats and guests than it was because of Curren$y. I expect this EP to be great, get Curren$y with a top producer like Ski, Alchemist, or Harry Fraud for one cohesive joint, and good things usually happen.

Agreed 100%. I wasn't really feeling Stoned Immaculate but Harry Fraud has been destroying shit this year and Currensy definitely sounds better when working with one or two producers as opposed to getting beats from everybody.

Props for the link.
I would buy this EP over the Stoned Immaculate.

looking forward to hearing this. Suprised it was dropping so soon after the album though. Though there might be a danger of him spreading himself too thin (nh @ "spreading himself too thin")

will wait on review from someone who doesn't get a boner everytime he presses play on his Ipod. Thanks anyway.

It's pretty good. The beats are on point and the songs sound great. Some of them have a Miami Vice soundtrack kinda feel. The only thing I didn't like is that some of the tracks are only one verse which makes it a pretty short EP. (14 minutes for 5 tracks) Overall it's worth checkin out though. I would love to see these guys do a whole full length album together.

Nowhere near the level of those 2 songs and the production is a bit too hazy for the rapping, but better than anything else I've heard by him since Pilot Talk 2, I 'ppose.

he'd definitely benefit from recording less material. Theres no way you can maintain any type of high quality output releasing that much music.
That album had 2-3 songs with any lasting value when it shouldve been a 4/5 set. If he hadnt had 3 other EPs on the go at the same time it wouldve come out better.

Stoned Immaculate was ok, but it seems like these "major-label" debuts are never as good as the indie albums. I would easily take either of the Pilot Talks, This Ain't No Mixtape or Covert Coup over SI.

I'm definitely looking forward to the projects he listed in that interview though...

He should definitely release less music and focus on whatever it is he is doing. I'd say no collab-album with Chuck Inglish and Wiz Khalifa - nobody wants to hear that. And don't release another EP with boring Alchemist beats.
Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly

Yes. But I'm not a huge fan of the Alchemist, or rather his output during the last few years.

Cigarette Boats is a really good EP. If it is an indication that an LP is on the way, then I'm stoked.

Shock post

I'd put covert coup near return of the mac in terms of quality
