I'm not a huge fan of Community, I'll watch it once in a while but I hate the main dude way too much to watch it regularly. Donald Glover and that Indian dude are hilarious together.
I like that song in the first post. I listened to his album a while back and thought it was just ok. It's not something I can listen to all the time, though. I have to really be in the mood to enjoy it.

Surprised they'd book him at the Black Cat and not the Improv in DC.

He does do a very good live show. He was an RA at my NYU dorm back in 2004. Great guy.
We did this song two/three years ago:

that makes it even better. i think all rappers should get their names from the Wu generatorCaptin Planit wrote:He got it from the Wu-Tang name generator online.A Kid wrote:i dig the name Childish Gambino..just reading the name on paper you'd never think it was him..im assuming thats why he chose it..
Not that serious of an endeavor for him. Still cool.

he manages to sound more relevant and in-tune to successful commercial rapping on this than lot of rappers right now, not to mention less bitchmade. which is hilarious given who he is. the punchlines are clever.
i'm impressed

I can completely understand why people would like this and the lyrics are clever...but personally, I couldn't make it all the way through the song/vid.
I couldn't tell if he was mocking stuff like Wiz and Drake or trying to ape it while hedging his bets, just in case. Either way, it was a highly disconcerting, which might be fine if the end product sounded even slightly original. But it doesn't.

I've read a lot of your posts and you really disagree with/dislike everything.COOLEHMAGAZINE wrote:I can completely understand why people would like this and the lyrics are clever...but personally, I couldn't make it all the way through the song/vid.
