Willie Green (no Sixers) is nice with the beats

Post by COOLEHMAGAZINE »

I know the guy well and as such, I am biased, but Green is very, very underrated with the beats. He never comes wack, the drums are always on point and he can make any type of track, definitely one of the more versatile producers out there right now IMO.

Oh shit! I hadn't seen those clips.

As far as the HiCoup record, I know it's done and what I have heard live and otherwise is crazy. He also has some joints on this Billy Woods mixtape that is supposed to come out sometime in the next month or three.

Both songs Zesto did with Green are also choice.

Word, I'm amped to hear that.

For those who are interested to hear more, he's got some freebies up on his bandcamp:
http://www.williegreenmusic.com/
The songs in those clips are off the ...Of Heroes and Villains beat tape, which is one of those freebies.

I'm a big fan for sure.

I dig both of his beat tapes, especially ...Of Heroes and Villains, listened to that at bedtime for several months solid.

Law & Order has the best songs and Dirty Jordan's is more the traditional beattape but as a full listen, Heroes & Villains is easily his best work IMO.

Quite the opposite of what you're thinking, if anything, haha.

Seriously though OME, I can imagine that coming out real nice. Funnily enough, I think I might have been the one who put him onto your music.

Here it is. Probably their best collaboration on a track.

I definitely dig with that Emmanuel Goldstein remix too, even though I prefer the original.

Haha, calling people out and shit! I thought it might be a little weird to jump in this post but fuck it. Thanks to everyone for the kind words, it's always ill to know people are listening and fuck with what you do.

Got a lot of new shit planned for this year, but not gonna leak anything just yet. I did just update my "Spare Laces" collection on my site, it's random joints from all over the place that people may have missed. http://www.williegreenmusic.com/album/spare-laces

Check out that Red & Green too, I know it's not Christmas anymore, but I think some of those beats came out real nice. http://www.williegreenmusic.com/album/red-green

And yes that HiCoup is finished and coming in a few months. It'll make you commit felonies, I promise.

Who knew you were getting your Questlove on all this time? And does "unplanned performance" really mean that they called you up out of the audience or you just didn't have time to rehearse?
