Boots has always been one of the only "politically conscious" rappers that genuinely knows what he's talking about. It's a really frustrating video to watch, though, since Harlan Williams won't shut the fuck up and Bill Maher is being a condescending, semi-prejudiced prick. Peep how he cuts to a commercial break instead of letting Boots finish defending his point of view--or how he tells him to shut up. Whether you agree with Communism or not, Boots is articulate and makes some cogent points, and you can't help but respect him.

:larry:

Was he really the one who wouldn't shut the fuck up? Boots got more uninterrupted speaking time than everyone else. I agree with at least the sentiment much of what he said, but come on dude. What was really fucked up was how ("studying deep thought like") Bill Maher didn't realize from the jump that that Coup album was out BEFORE 9/11.

Cool video though, never saw this.

Remember watching this when it aired and thinking everyone came off like a bunch of buffoons.

Amazingly stupid discussion, not a single bit of useful wisdom uttered by anyone.

I haven't watched this yet but they film these shows with the commercial breaks built in. Bill Maher doesn't decide where they go.
