nope. they actually let us go early
The best part is when that check randomly shows up 3 months later when you have forgotten about it. Not that it's a lot but it feels a lot like free money...so long as you did not end up in a real trial about insurance fraud at a nursing home or something.
The problem is that in 2011, really talented underground rappers almost never do projects together.
It's bizarre because you would think the internet makes such things easier than ever before but groups are on the decline in hip-hop. And usually, collaborative records are either within an already established clique (which rarely have more than one GREAT rapper) or between a great MC and a notably lesser one.
I feel like a lot of times people worry that they might somehow dim their own star in collaborating on something, or they are waiting to see some sort of commercial/marketing angle to make it worthwhile.
Then you have the simple problem of people following up and getting stuff done when there is little to no advance money on the table. I feel like a large percentage of the announcements of collaborative records between MC's don't happen because there is not enough incentive to make sure people follow through.

You're right. But these are two out of maybe ten rappers who combine artistic innovation with unapologetic truth telling and social/political critique and make it sound fun.

Don't get me wrong, show me the petition and I will sign it. I just do not hold out much hope for these things. If they did a track together I would already be pleasantly surprised.
