Here's a 10,000 word interview that possibly only the people who post in this thread will appreciate, so hopefully you like it a lot: http://www.tinymixtapes.com/features/billy-woods" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Heard this ten-year-old radio freestyle by HiCoup and The Reavers, woods' supergroup with Privilege, Keith Masters, Goldenchild, Akir, Hasan Salaam and not present, possibly celebrating Megalon's prison release, Kong & Spiega of M.I.C.

Great listen:
Episode #30: Billy Woods and Hiding from the Media

Because of his music and anonymity, was caught off guard at how funny and personable Woods is.

Block posted it up in his thread, but Woods deserves the bump. Really looking forward to this:

Known Unknowns is billy woods’ new album, a follow-up to 2013’s Blockhead collaboration Dour Candy. Blockhead is still behind the boards here but there are also a couple beats from his longtime collaborator Aesop Rock. But the center of the whirlwind is still woods, who re-emerges from a two-year hiatus after releasing the avant-garde Today, I Wrote Nothing in early 2015. Known Unknowns finds the artist on more melodic ground, but still his esoteric, acerbic self, spinning verses equal parts joy and terror, wry wit and blind rage. There are guest appearances from ELUCID (Armand Hammer), as well as Aesop Rock, Homeboy Sandman, Googie, singer Barrie McLain and DJ Mo Niklz. Since Dour Candy, Blockhead has worked with Aesop, Sandman and MarQ Spekt but Known Unknowns shows that he and woods have developed their own unique chemistry. Here is the tracklist for the album…

1 Bush League
2 Snake Oil
3 Unstuck
4 Wonderful feat. Aesop Rock & Homeboy Sandman
5 Superpredator
6 Fall Back
7 Groundhogs Day
8 Everybody Knows
9 Police Came To My Show
10 Nomento feat. ELUCID
11 Washington Redskins
12 Tupac Jackets feat. ELUCID
13 Source Awards
14 Strawman feat. Googie & Barrie McLain
15Cheap Shoes
16 Gazpacho
17 Keloid
18 Robespierre feat. Barrie McLain
Wonderful feat. Aesop Rock & Homeboy Sandman

Yeah, can't wait for this both songs dropped are high quality. All 3 verses are great on the new one, but I think billy comes out with the best one.

Known Unknowns is the album I always wanted woods to make. Blockhead supplies him w/ maybe the best beats of his life?!? And woods slays each and every one wit a type of swag he really hasn't shown in the past, can't recommend this album enough

good album, so far one of the best in 2017. love the production, billy's rhymes are on point, too. could get along w/o the barrie mclain singing, especially on the googie collab.

what's the deal with the new armand hammer album?

Finally got a chance to give this thing proper rotation over the weekend, this might be my favorite Billy Woods album. Mainly because I never thought Woods would make an album like this, it's just a great rap record front to back. Great work again Blockhead.

album is great. super grateful that artists like billy woods exist.

billy is someone who i'll probably continue to better and better understand as i get older. i just finished "between the world and me" by ta-nehisi coates and now i finally understand why he called his song from the previous album "zulu tolstoy." in 2020 i hope to understand like 3 more songs on this album.

It's definitely the most woodsy woods song on there. One of my favorites too. And the video's great. (Notably, most of his face we've ever seen in an official video/pic?) Nothing tops "They Know Who You Are" for me though.

Shit's a masterpiece. Fanon's Ghost is my early favorite, but this one really feels like an instant classic. I'm a hyperbolic motherfucker, but I really don't think I'm overstating it this time. I LOVE these dudes as solo artists, but their work together is their best work.

Billy is consistent as always but goddamn Elucid murders all over this record.

the fact that they're at a point in their career they can get the features, and more importantly beats, they want and really know how to construct a trim-the-fat record now is key. Mach, Quelle, Denmark, and Curly is the perfect guest list and they all deliver in context. This album is psychedelic as fuck and should be listened to in context of said drugs.

Billy Woods's output has been the best of the best for the last few years. All of his releases have been top level. I don't really know Elucid's material that well, but they have great chemistry.
