ATCQ-Midnight marauders just a classic in every sense of the word. Plus phife and q-tip chemistry got better.

De la soul-3 feet high and rising though i loved how they shit on the jiggy big willy movement.

Brand nubian-One for all but foundation wore on me alot. An underrated album. Makes me wanna listen to their album on Babygrande.

MF Doom-operation doomsday yeah. One of the best hip-hop comebacks ever besides 50 cent.

Ice cube-death certificate. Aside from racism as a Black man I agreed with everything he was spitting. Alot of his socio political content resonates today.

Public enemy-It takes a nation of millions. Incredible release that proved to be very influential and praised by alternative artists liek Kurt cobain.

Jay-z--Blueprint. a surprising move that helped launch Kanye west career more so because it was coming off the west coast influenced production of the Dynasty. Brought back the soul from the keyboard swizz beats stuff at the time.

Nas--Illmatic. Changed lyricism with an outsider perspective that lived alot of street life. It's crazy how Russel simmons passed on Nasty nas saying he sounded too much like Kool g rap and Rakim.

Redman-Muddy waters. I listened to redman a shitload malpractice and back and this one just really holds up to me. He was hungry and raw just really more polished

Wu tang--36 chamber. Though wu tang forever proved to be real influential to Just blaze, Kanye, with the strings.

Ghostface killah--supreme clientile. Hard soul but way more polished and bold then most of ironman imo. Lyricism on "Nutmeg" and reflective songs like "Malcom" go hard. It coulda been better too without childs play and the skit before it. Ironman, supreme clientile, and fishcale are all ghostface killah's classics imo.

I made a couple of picks on burn and preference over cohesiveness, but I'll stand by them.

A Tribe Called Quest- Low End Theory
De La Soul- De La Soul Is Dead
Brand Nubian- I'm gonna keep it 100, I listened to Everything Is Everything a lot more than One For All, simply because I never checked too hard for Brand Nubian albums. I am probably not qualified to speak on this one.
MF Doom- Operation Doomsday
Del The Funky Homosapien- IWMBGWH
Ice Cube- Death Certificate. To be honest, I listened to that first Lench Mob album and Lethal Injection religiously in the early 90s...far moreso than DC but I recognize that Death Certificate is better than LI in retrospect.
P.E.- Nation Of Millions
Jay-Z- Reasonable Doubt
Nas- Illmatic (but HHID>>IWW)
Redman- Dare Iz A Darkside
Wu-Tang Clan- Wu Tang Forever
Ghostface Killah- **Any pick between Ironman and SC for me is a complete toss up. Today I will go with SC, but they are pretty even for me. It's like picking between Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction

Really? As in you rate Madvillainy, VV or Operation as being about as good as Born Like This or Danger Doom?

he's just one of those artists i can only listen to for maybe a week or so per year..he'll be incredibly funny to me one minute and the next he's putting me to sleep instantly...

i can say i enjoyed Operation Doomsday and the first couple projects after that more than his more recent stuff.

A Tribe Called Quest: Low end theory
De La Soul : De la soul is dead
Brand Nubian : All for one
MF Doom :Doomsday
Del The Funky Homosapien : I wish my brother georgie was here
Ice Cube : Death certificate
Public Enemy : It takes a nation...
Jay-Z : Reasonable doubt
Nas : Illmatic
Redman : Dare is a darkside*
Wu-Tang Clan : 36 chambers
Ghostface Killah : Iron man

*I really have no real preference. I love redman the rapper but his albums have always missed the mark for me outside of a handful of songs. It's the beats. Not a fan of them.

is it a generation gap that makes people like it was written and blueprint over illmatic and reasonable doubt respectively or can i just express my true feelings that people who espouse those opinions could not possibly have anything enlightening or worthwhile to offer in/about/regarding hip hop music

:larry:
I feel quite the opposite. "IWMBGWH" aged really well. NNFA , however, did not. I can barely listen to it anymore outside of a few tracks.

This would be more valid if it was coming from someone who has heard all the works of Public Enemy, Brand Nubian and Redman.
